Now hiring
When it comes to the video game industry, we often get a lot of bad news. Studios are shut down, IP is reshuffled, game developers have to look for new work. But Ubisoft is going in the other direction, looking to hire 500 people over the next seven years.

Ubisoft announced that they wanted to add 500 jobs to their Quebec offices, bringing the total number to 3500. Yves Guillemot explained:

The imminent arrival of the next generation of consoles, the expansion of mobile platforms, the multiplication of connected, immersive, and social environments, and the strategic importance of the relationship between developers and players are profoundly transforming the video game industry.

These jobs range from mathematicians and telemetry experts to monetization and interactive marketing specialists. But wait kids, there’s more! The Quebec government will also be throwing money at this – $9.6 million, in fact. Ubisoft is one of the main economic drivers in Quebec, so it makes sense.

I’m excited to see how Ubisoft grows with this new commitment. 500 employees, that’s a lot. It’s great news for the industry to see this kind of investment and growth. I hope other studios are able to follow suit, soon. Maybe they can hire some of the people who lost out when Blitz closed their doors.

My Crystal ball tells me that this wins least comments of the week. And the lotto number for Wednesday is going to be 1, 17, 24, 39, 46, 49

You know if that were to be the lotto numbers, and you did NOT play, you would kick yourself in the balls?

As it is not an Indie News Article, it shouldn’t win least comment prize 😉 (just messing with Zoe) However that is good news.
The 500 is probably for AC 5,6,7
