Ubisoft may look at punishing The Division’s Falcon Lost exploiters

Falconlost

There was an exploit in The Division’s Falcon Lost that allowed players to attack an APC without triggering the waves of non-player character enemies that would usually accompany it. It allowed for some pretty easy loot farming. Ubisoft deployed a hot fix last week to fix the glitch, along with the unfortunate one that saw Xbox One characters disappearing in to the digital ether.

Now though, Ubisoft says that those who made use of the Falcon Lost exploit may be in for a surprise – and not the good sort.

Ubisoft community manager, Natchai Stappers, said on Friday that that they may punish those who used the exploit as it’s against the game’s Code of Conduct.

“We are working on fixing the exploit. Obviously it is against our Code of Conduct and the team is looking into what can be done in terms of punishment for those who have exploited,” Strapper said.

According to said code of conduct, “Exploitation of any new or known issues or bugs is forbidden and may result in account suspension or revocation.”

If you used it, you may see your account suspended, or have whatever shiny loot you acquired from said exploit stripped away.

As you’d imagine, the people playing the Division are not too pleased.

“It absolutely sickens me that a Community Manager has stepped forward not to apologize for the complete mess of code that has been delivered as a finished product, but rather to deflect blame for any balancing issues that may arise due to their shoddy production onto their paying customers,” says one angry agent (of many!)

Here’s the thing. I don’t think suspending or banning people is a good idea, though I’d have zero issues with ill-gotten gains being removed from characters.

In semi related news, it seems that The Division’s daily missions haven’t changed at all for the past three days. They’re meant to change every 24 hours, but are pretty stagnant right now.

Falcon Lost can be exploited? Oh well at least we get our gear the honest way.

On that note I just broke 1.3 Million damage crits on my new sniper last night yay!
At the cost of getting one shotted by a slight breeze.

My stamina before I had to do something about it was sitting at a not so comfy 980 while my arms was at 3200. I have stabilized it a bit because of Falcon Lost and DZ runs though. I can still get above 1mil dmg but I need to smart cover and pulse to get there.

I’m sitting at around 215k dmg with the tenebrae,oh, and per headshot, that thing is awesome, but my total health is closer to 65k and of course skill is about 15k where on earth did you get that monster though?

The first wave M1A was up till 1.1 only a drop-able weapon. However you can now purchase the pattern at DZ rank 75 for like 160k DZ credits. Mine however was a drop in the Pit cause we pretty much only farm DZ06 at this point. Hell I even got a 182 Midas last night (Boss at what we call Musica but is a music store of some sort). Have not tested it but since my secondary weapon is a SMG it may be a decent replacement for my old Aug drop. Gonna test tonight in Falcon Lost and see what happens. Also the sniper 4 set bonus helps get the dmg up. Crafted 2 and got 2 drops in Falcon Lost (well more than 2 but who is counting. 🙂 ).

I have so many HE weapons, but none do the damage that my current combo is doing, anyway, will have to play through Falcon Lost at some point, I tried it solo i a mio, it sucked, not the mission, me, eating all of those APCs bullets…

The talents on the weapon are *hugely* important to its damage output. I still run a purple SOCOM M1 on one of my characters because of the perks, rather than replacing it with a “better” item, but with crappy / no talents activated.
I’ll take 4-5k less per hit, if I’m going to be doing 20-30% more headshot damage, with a higher crit chance, any day of the week.

Same here!! At first I had my primary weapon do some ridiculous 140k DPS, but my health was somewhere closer to 30k, which was a really bad idea, run in, headshot the first guy, second guy turns around and before he even shoots me, I’m dead…

I’m between two minds here, on one side, it is bad that the exploit gave DZ trolls better gear, but on the other side, account banning etc is quite harsh

Agreed. Take away the loot maybe. A ban is too harsh. The players didn’t change game code to make the exploit. The devs released it like that.

Worst case, they have to farm it again.

Which is how they should have earned it in the first time. So nothing lost

I was very pro Division a while back. Last week to be exact. Unfortunately my opinion has changed. Given the new loot system, You would think this game is better. Nope. All it does is ad incentive to get to level 30 and dip into DZ game-play. After wallowing at 171 for countless hours and possibly days of grinding, I find I have not progressed much further. You can buy better gear in the DZ with DZ currency or by collecting Phoenix credits. But collecting Dark Zone currency is not easy to do as a lone wolf. I have been killed in the most unsavory manner in the DZ countless times. Each time I die, The offender, A Rogue team of players steals 1500 credits. A amount that normally takes about a hour and a half to amass. I tried the Falcon Lost raid with very little success. These yanks are a impatient lot. If you are not a ninja operator you find they end up berating you and leaving after a little while. That leaves only the daily hard or challenging missions. Repeat, Repeat and more repeat. Even then, You only receive 10-20 phoenix credits. So, After spamming the elites in the easier section of the DZ in order to get better gear, I find I am getting the same drops over and over again, Those are the times the Rogue pigs did not wait for me to attach my loot and shoot me. Alas, I have reached a state of cynical contempt for a game that sends a mixed message. It’s totally ok to be a predator that steals shit from lone players that are as effective as a baby when going up against a team of 190 + Call of Duty esque dickwads. Try harder DZ sections you say, Nope. The predators are a little more stronger and hence worse. I honestly believe that Ubisoft are sending a bizarre message with the whole concept of the DZ. That or I am very bitter.

I found the same was happening with me. I was making phoenix credits faster than I could spend them on anything worthwhile, as those expensive weapons you can buy are fairly pants to be honest. I’m buying schematics I’ll likely never craft now, purely so that I don’t waste them by hitting the currency cap.

Yup, you cap out for Phoenix Credits at 1k.

I have 3 characters at 30 (I took last week off, ostensibly to work on assignment for varsity, so, yeah……) so just doing the dailys nets me a fair number of PCs a day, so I’ve hit cap twice now.

            April 18, 2016 at 15:30

Jislaaikit, ok, now that is dedication man! Bloody hell!! I’ve tried doing it, but there’s just not enough time for me in a day to do that much, but do you accumulate credits per character or are each of them individually credited?

          • BacchusZA

            April 18, 2016 at 17:11

They’re shared across all your characters, and they add up *fast* from running the dailys & a few challenges.

    • Greylingad[CNFRMD]

      April 18, 2016 at 13:40

I have 12, no, not 3 or four or even seven, I have 12 Advanced Performance mods in my inventory, I have fourteen High end weapons and all of my gear is high end, and I’m sitting on lvl 171, I haven’t gotten a good drop in a while and all of the weapons that are good are the ones I’ve crafted… I honestly don’t understand why there is a gap of 300 Phoenix Credits between two sets of weapons, let alone how much farming you’ll have to do to get all parts of one set of the gear sets… And those hours of DZ farming and having some moron kill you because they sneak up behind you while you were gunning down an elite… That irritates me, but the moment you start playing with friends it puts a different spin on things…

How about the Challenge mode missions, guys? The mission reward is a 163 item, which won’t help squat, but you can at least deconstruct those for mat. The boss, however, drops a 182, and sometimes even a gear-set item, though it’s going to take you a while to collect of set of something that’s actually decent, & doesn’t have starts that make you wonder why the gods of RNG hate you so fucking much.

I am also kind of on the edge. I officially requested LTE from Telkom over a year ago. I was pretty happy with their service, But considering they have not bothered to lift a finger to do what I requested and they have that B.S. Bolt-speed fibre campaign going ( Super Cute Kid ), I am officially a Telkom hater. False advertising firstly, lack of service delivery. Complacency, they own the market and dictate our lives….fuckers… My Modem says LTE and It has 4-5 bars. I get max download on a very good day once a year of 5 megs a second and if I break 1 meg upload I am lucky. Last time I checked, Those speeds are slower than 3G. In America, they would be out of business wondering where it all went wrong. I would go to war over this……

Had 180k dps, 60k HP and 20k skill and it was not working out quite well.
Changed to 120k dps , 125k HP and 10k Skill. What a difference.
Cant kill them as fast as I used to but having a high Health changes the game completely.
Took me about 1.5 hours on Hard.

He’s telling people its totally legit that their gear score is so high when all you have to do is search their twitch streams and there is proof that they exploited.

They want to punish and ban people for using the exploit, yet they do nothing about hackers? If you’re caught hacking its a 3 day ban ( without stat reset ) first offence and perma ban second and tou have to provide concrete proof ( even though there is no spectator ) and no form currently to report hackers ( except typing /report playername, and cannot report via ubisoft support page.what a load of kak ). Yet, they want to swing the banhammer for getting better loot? What about people exploiting the DZ safehouses by going through walls and shooting everyone and cant take damage? So in other words, go ahead and hack and rack up a moerse DZ rank and get banned for 3 days and then stop when you are a very high level and carry on. Im so gatvol of running around the DZ just to be killed by a teleporting rogue that oneshots you at an extraction point and flies across the map and one shots your whole group ( yes one shot, 4 players dead ). Go ahead and hack all you want but whatever you do, dont exploit the games shit code to get better loot so you can try and stand a chance in the DZ.

    Nee wat, fuck this game
