The new chapter in the age old classic, Ghosts ‘N Goblins becomes available today on the Playstation Network.
Fans of the original can once again don the underpants of our famous zombie owning hero and head off on the action packed adventure of saving the princess once again. I have been really impressed with these types of games lately. Pacman Championship Edition and SSF2 HD Remix have both shown that developers have started to understand what it is to keep all the good bits and just expand on what works in a new creative way.
The classic 2D visuals look great, the animations are nice and smooth and the particle effects are used to full effect as well so on the whole it looks like quite a pretty ride. Thanks to the 3 difficulty modes, newcomers will be able to find out what all the oldschool fuss was about without regretting the purchase( see: Megaman 9).
Ultimate Ghosts and Goblins is reported to be going for $20 so all you locals can expect to dish out around about R200 for the experience.

I have the UMD – this game is awesome. Retains the feel and IMMENSE difficulty of G&G, but the 2.5D presentation makes it look superb.
I still haven’t finished this actually – It’s ridiculously, ridiculously difficult

Yeah – but since the last update the PSP has access to the PSN store too. It seems Sony has pretty much realised that the UMD is a rubbish format, and are distributing PSP games digitally.
