Naughty dog co-president Evan Wells has announced that Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune will be released on the 7th of December to PAL territories. Hopefully that includes us.

Even better news is that they are releasing a demo onto PSN before then, but the date has not been announced yet. In more good news it was revealed that the game will also play in full 1080i resolution as well as the standard 720p…

However in bad news it was revealed that the game runs at only 30 frames-per-second.

Err… is that a typo or is 1080i correct? Shouldnt 1080p be the “true” HD that Sony hypes about?

yeah maybe that wasn’t so kind of me 😉 I don’t know much about this HD stuff but I always thought 720p and 1080i were the same thing really. I thought you could always upscale 720p to 1080i?

Yes you can but 1080i will always run @ 30fps coz its Interlaced. 720p and 1080p are progressive thus their frame rate cap is set @ 60fps.

No worries, I just thought it was a typo coz there is little advantage of running games @ 1080i.
