Uncharted trilogy hitting PS4 on 30 September?

Uncharted trilogy

I am a big part of the problem when it comes to remastered games. I know we should be encouraging studios to make news games, but there are plenty of remastered games (particularly trilogies) that I would happily buy if and when they come to new consoles. Uncharted is one of them, and it might be here in time for the holidays.

According to a Swiss retailer (thanks Destructoid) who has subsequently removed the listing, a remastered collection of the Uncharted Trilogy will be coming to PS4 on 30 September 2015. It’s all totally a rumor and could have just been a placeholder, but the timing does make sense.

The new Uncharted has been delayed into next year. For many of those new to the PlayStation family, they won’t know the joy that is the Uncharted Trilogy. This would be the perfect opportunity for them to ride Drake’s scarf through the holiday season and be excited for the new game’s launch in 2016. And that, my friends, is the purpose of these remasters. Old fans of the franchise might replay bits and pieces, but it’s really all about indoctrinating those people who missed out the first time around. It works, too – you must see how Sandy has become a Nintendo fanboy thanks to all the Zelda remasters on 3DS.

Are you a part of the problem like I am? I want this remaster, as well as one for Mass Effect. Or are you so tired of remasters and just hoping the new games will live up to expectations?

With the exception of the first game I don’t think the games will look significantly better than the PS3 versions. Halo was the same with the first 2 games in the remasters looking far superior but they were over a generation old and God of War III also not needing a remaster. The Last of Us didn’t benefit dramatically imo either.

Look at TLOU, the best thing about remastering PS3 games is that the frame rate and res can be upped easily thanks to keeping the polygon counts exactly the same as the PS3.

Although Naughty Dog admitted that getting the PS3 classic TLOU to 60fps was a total nightmare.

I felt TLoU was reasonably improved on PS4

A static screenshot comparison could be described as ‘reasonably improved’ when considering the higher resolution textures in isolation, but when the game is in motion the difference is huge. You have 60 of those improved screenshots every second. Panning around is silky smooth with rock solid imagery. The combat plays totally different with the added accuracy of 60fps and the characters gain a solid presence due to the silky smooth animations.

The Last Of Us remaster on PS4 was a huge leap forward. High res textures, superb rock solid image stability and silky smooth combat that drastically improved the way the game plays. Huge difference. You probably just watched a compressed Youtyube video and concluded that was the quality you get.

Errrrrr… no. Own and finished the original on PS3 on release and have a loan copy of the remaster in my drawer for the last 4 months, which hasn’t been touched since the gymnasium scene as it’s still the SAME game.

EDIT: How will God of War etc “play better” with better graphics, please dude?

After the massive success of TLOU Remastered and the PSN stats that show the vast majority of PS4 owners never owned a PS3.

good, I am looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about even if it means pushing U4 to next year so the SONY virgins can catch up.

    60fps/1080p for the WIN.

lol I only turn my PS4 on when I need some TLOU time. Sad but True.

Get some Resogun (season pass is a must unfortunately) but that said, I’m currently playing Uncharted 3 on my PS3, hehe

I never realized how in love I would be with MY Vita 🙂

If I had to turn the clock back I would rather have just invested in a Vita… Also if it was not for TLOU I would never have bothered buying a PS4.

Resogun is also on the Vita… But I have over 800 hours worth of jrpg’s on my 32gig memory card… 1st world problems, don’t you love it 🙂

I would look at a Vita but would prob just end up playing everything I play on PS4. Never been a fan of JRPG, it’s the eyes, could never get over those eyes

Lots of Western PS4 titles on the Vita. The Tell Tale games, Rayman, Resogun, Limbo, Child of Light…

Its steeling allot of attention away from its big sister, I wonder what SONY think about that. Maybe if they kill the Vita then there would be more PS4 sales.

Axiom Verge man, that game… I must say that I have found the indie type titles far more interesting than their AAA counterparts on the PS4 thus far.

Black on PS2 was a great game, but Cold Winter was even better.

Ugh, these remasters………. But as always welcome to the PS family all those converted from the tyranny of the XBOX, I’d get this if you’ve never played it. Truly a stellar trilogy and just in time for No.4 next year.

I’ll buy it for sure and I’ve played all three to death. I still play some U3 coop arena even now and would love to play it in higher quality. All these new games on PS4, none of them play as good as the smooth fun packed combat in U3 coop arena. Same goes for U2 coop survival.

Well if this is going to be the year of the remaster , Xbox take note and bring me a Gears of war 1 to 3 remaster.
I might just have to pick up a uncharted remaster , my poor wallet.

There really isn’t any need for a Gears remaster dude, played the first title again recently and it still looks great after 9 years. This from a PC gamer no less.

I still have all my old consoles around as there hasn’t been too much compelling me to play on my new consoles…
I recently picked up additional copies of the Gears trilogy for a system link playthrough with a friend of mine who had never played the series. We’ve done the 1st game and we’re loving it… time for a another Link & Beer session.

Gears at 1080p and 60 solid fps would be sweet. That Unreal engine was and is ahead of its time.
