US Marines Shoot RROD’ed Xbox 360, Shouting “F#*% You, Microsoft!”

Well someone’s not happy. That someone happens to actually be a group of US Marines overseas who weren’t very happy to find out that their Xbox 360 had fallen victim to the infamous Red Ring Of Death.

Since getting it repaired was a bit of a tall order, they decided to do a little repairing themselves, with some very large and very real firearms. As if unleashing a couple zillion rounds of ammo into an Xbox 360 wasn’t already a big enough insult to Microsoft, one of the Marines kicks off the massacre with a loud and proud “F#*% You, Microsoft!”.

Firstly, yes, Marines do get Xboxes. Second, no, I don’t know if they play Call of Duty right before going out on real missions. Three, don’t they have better things to do than waste ammo (money) on a console that clearly needed no assistance in destroying itself in the first place?

I see that the US military applies the same techniques to Console repair as they do to Hostage Rescue.

    But where were the grenades?

I was hoping they’d use a predator missile on it, given the amount of bullets pumped into the xbox, you’d think they’d have the necessary kill streak points 😀

Achievement Unlocked: You have just fucked an xbox 360 with a motherfreaking predator missile!

I’d like to see the same treatment given to my YLOD 60g PS3.

But the US government do not negotiate with terrorists! Predator missile ahoy!

But in all seriousness, as cold and dismal that proclamation may be, you can kind of understand where they’re coming from, and that’s not to make light of the pain and suffering of the families. That’s why I sometimes wonder whether the world is too soft on those somali pirates in the Gulf of Aden.

    LOL, CoD reference!

Yeah, one can’t negotiate with terrorists, that just gives them greater legitimacy.

RE Gulf of Aden pirates…I also think the world should be more hardcore on them, though I don’t believe they’ve killed anyone – they’re closer ‘pirate’ than ‘terrorist’ ? Perhaps that deserves some life-sparing approaches? Still very uncool though.

    OR

As the bilions of dollars lost or spent on security and insurance could have saved many other lives in the world, so indirectly they are terroristish and the world should AC-130 their ass!

@FreeStanler For the moment, the navies patrolling the Gulf are merely trying to keep the situation from escalating. I think the idea is to keep the pirates from boarding the ships, but once they’ve boarded and the ship is being pirated, there’s nothing they can or want to do, in fear of the hostages being killed.

I think what annoys me most about the situation as that what’s happening in Somalia is just being ignored by the powers that be. Where’s the UN? Granted the UN has always been an ageing, obese and toothless tiger, but this is ridiculous.

Yes I agree with you. Somalia is the problem, and its pretty being left to itself. Its funny how the UN, and US in particular, jump in elsewhere in the world to help salvage the situation, but Africa is left its own impoverished devices. There are now terrorist groups operating out of Somalia (notably the one that detonated the bomb at a Soccer World Cup match viewing in a Rwandan rugby club), so this is starting to backfire on the US’s ignorant policies. Also look at how Zim was just left to the tyrants.
