US Sales Chart – 40GB Edition

So they are finally here, the latest US sales which include the new cheaper 40GB model…. So how did they fair? These are the sales for the week ending the 17th of November and the figures in brackets are from the week prior to 40GB takeoff.

Wii –  253,878 (146,934)
360 – 154,918 (138,778)
PS3 –  87,255 (55,446)

So the PS3 sold 22 000 more units which is not bad, the 360 sold 16 000 more which is also not to bad and the Wii sold an extra 110 000…. That things a monster.

So is this great for the PS3 that it is nearly selling 100k or is it a complete disaster following the last throw of the dice by a dying platform? I guess it just depends which side you are on.

I’m sure Nintendo is smiling all the way to the bank. And probably laughing openly at both MS and Sony

Japan’s so Xenophobic they’re treating all foreigners as criminals now before they even enter the country.

And Europe? Pretty interesting numbers but those darn Spaniards and Italians, wtf?

Yup, those Japanese are about as Xenophobic as the Americans …

Europe’s very interesting to watch, Microsoft’s big “EU push” the Xtival starts next week, and XBLVM launches shortly as well, but they are traditionally playstation loyalists.

Xbox does well in the UK and holds its own in Germany and France – but Spain and Italy are big PS3 territories so expect Resistencia: caída del hombre 2 to be a big hit next Summer. Hmmm maybe Matadors : The game will be the killer app Sony has been waiting for
