So yesterday was Batman day and unfortunately things didn’t go quite as well as the developers would have liked with the news being headlined with stories about how bad the PC port of the game was and how uneven the the graphics were across platforms.
Well thanks to the YouTube channel Candyland we can now check out a comparison in 1080 60fps (where possible) and to be honest I’m not seeing a big enough problem with any of the platforms to really say it isn’t worth picking up on that platform.
I’ve never been overly concerned about graphics and while it is obviously important to many people I can’t say I can really see much difference in the above video.
Overall I think the PS4 appears to be the nicest version which will likely annoy the PC master race but if you are stuck with only an Xbox One I doubt you are going to be crying yourself to sleep over the slight graphical comparisons.
For those who are videolly impaired (totally a word) I’ve grabbed some screenshots for some easy comparisons.
So have you picked up your copy yet and if so how’s it working out for you?
Unfortunately our review copy didn’t arrive so we don’t have an early review but we’ll be popping out to the shop to sort that out so if you are still on the fence then I’d recommend holding out for a week or so and we’ll let you know if it really is any good at all?

I see one guy on Steam says even with the frame rate unlocked it blips down to 23fps on a 970GTX and sometimes the game stutters.

It’s badly optimised (if at all). And even if it were just about how it looks, have we now decided that it’s okay to lock a game to 30fps on a pc because that’s just how it’s done? No, fuck that, by saying it’s acceptable to half-arse a port is like supporting all the crap that goes along with bad releases.

my experience with Batman on PC sofar.
takealot emails me saying its going to be late, game eventually arrives and i get super excited to play.
stick disks in pc, start installing, watch the MB installed bar, game finishes installing with 7gb installed. steam starts downloading the remaining 26gb.
uninstall game and reinstall, again only 7gb installs.
Now im pissed, buying a retail copy and having to download? bullshit. but I decide to be patient and let it download. 5gb into the download, i pause it for a minute so i can actually use the internet, come back to it and my downloads reset itself AND the installed portion and started over from 0.
proceeded to uninstall and go to bed…
I cant even complain about how badly optimised it is, because i havent even been able to launch it yet. and im not the only one, so many comments online about faulty disks and people who ahve had the same issue.
handing off a game to an external company that gives no fucks, to do handle the PC port, fucking it up and then actually RELEASING the game in its fucked up state?
totally unacceptable.
after asking for a 30$ season pass for Arkham Origins and giving you fuck all in that seasons pass, Id have thought theyd learnt something about providing for the fans…
now, after that and all the BS with the new game, they still ahve the gall to ask for a 40$ season pass?
sofar, my attitude towards this game is FAR from positive or optimistic…
rocksteady done fucked up.

I think what people forget is that PC gamers have massively better vision and frame rate detection abilities in their genetic make-up. This allows them to detect micro-fractures in the game-time continuum which console plebs cannot.

It’s really hard to tell the difference between the bunch, the only real difference is that the PC version has smoke and a cape that is being blown around under water and no ambient occlusion… Other than that, the game looks pretty much like a big Arkham City version, with really bad XboxOne drivers, I might add….

I’m really tired of the whole “My Framerate is Better than Yours War”. It’s like having a cock-off where everyone involved has a small cock. It’s pointless in my view. They argue over milliseconds of lag and an extra pixel or two.
I wish people would just dim the lights, sit back, grab and controller and play.
I for one could care less about a missing pixel here and there when I’m doing a Dual Play Takedown with Catwoman.

You might laugh, but as a PC gamer, I agree with you completely, I want to play the game on my platform of choice and have as much fun as I can, if it looks nice while doing so, it’ll be a bonus, but it only takes two minutes to get used to pretty graphics, and then you have to dish up some content… I really want to play the game, but with the issues related to the PC build I’m not convinced…

If there are game-play issues or actual problems with the game mechanics, then sure, by all means, rage all over the internet about them. New games should be glitch-free on release. But it’s not like publishers and developers are going to hold back the release of a AAA title over visuals.
They just release a day-one patch for it. Which btw, the Xbox One has. And it’s 3.8GB.
I hope they sort out the PC issues dude, because this is The Best Bat Ever!

I’m a pc gamer and I have no idea at what frame rate my games run. I just want it to feel right. That’s all.
I’m running Witcher 3 at a graphics level that feels just right to me and lets the game run at a smoothness that I’m comfortable with. Do I know what my exact settings are? No. Do I know the frame rate? No. But I love playing the shit out of that game and that’s all that matters.
