Crewbeta

The Crew’s second beta PC beta goes live today, and runs until this weekend. We’ve got a giant stack of keys to give away, so that you can experience what it’s like to drive cross country… at 30 frames per second.

Ok, we seriously do have more PC keys for the beta than we know what to do with, so enter and you’re pretty much guaranteed a spot. There are a few warnings though.  The beta officially runs until the 29th of this month, which means you don’t have a heck of a lot of time to play.

The download is also a whopping 15Gb, which means that when you get your code tomorrow, you’ll have to start downloading it yesterday to get in. You’ll also need to use uPlay.

Apologies, but we’ve only just received our keys, so that’s the way it is.

We’ll be sending keys out tomorrow morning, so get entering and you could see what Ubisoft’s open world racer is all about.

So far no one on the comments has indicated they want. Geoff must be like “Fine you guys never get anything ever again!”

Either that or we are all ninja clicking and entering and only pretending to say no… Dun dun duuuuuuuun

I’d like to try it, just not enough time. If the beta ended over the weekend instead of before I’d definitely give it a try.

I actually would enter because I’d like to see what this is like, just not enough time. No point if I can only play it for an hour. Stupid work.

To be honest. This game does intrigue me, so I wouldn’t say no to a beta key. The fact that it needs Uplay is a little bit less intriguing. The 30fuckspersecond is also not that appealing, but I’m curious about it none the less.
(if that comment doesn’t scream for a key, I don’t know what does)

Maybe that’s why Destiny is shying away from PC at launch. What if the Master Race spots it’s imperfections? That could only negatively affect such a hugely hyped game.

I entered just to see how the game will be, I love racing games and this intrigued me, maybe I will like it maybe I wont, but a beta is a cheap way to check it out. Its hard getting the feel for car games when watching videos, so playing them is the only sure fire way to know for sure. Hope i get a key since no one else wants to use Uplay (this will be my 2nd time so I have nothing against it yet)

Yeah… and it appears that you don’t have to download the entire 15GB before actually being able to play, however with out internet it’ll probably be laggy as hell while downloading in the background.

I played this a bit last night and even though it was still downloading half the game I could play with smooth as silk frames and very little lag.
Getting the complaints I had out of the way, the cars drive well but its definitely not a racing simulator, I could deal with this without a problem. Next was the 30 FPS limit, which I had serious doubts about loading up the game. It ran so smooth I barely remembered it was only 30FPS, the world whizzes by smoothly as you take in all the breathtaking scenery! They have definitely made this damn pretty! The open world feel of everything makes this the racing game NFS world wanted to be back in the day. You really get a feeling of “Hey whats over there, wait I can actually go there” all the time and its awesome.
The storyline looks like it backs the gameplay very well and I am very intrigued in seeing where they go with that. It does break a bit when meeting other random racers in the world but that can be expected.
Overall I had a lot of fun even though it was just one night, if you enjoy racing games and not just racing to finish the game but want to build up your car and have the RPG elements to it, then this would be a good one to keep your eye out for.

Overall I enjoyed it quite a bit and would definitely want to jam it again. Thank you for sponsoring a key Geoff, its much appreciated!!
