War of the Visions Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

You want a tight and solid role-playing game experience that merges dozens of Final Fantasy and Square Enix properties together into a gorgeous mix of nostalgia and grinding? Then Final Fantasy Brave Exvius might be right up your alley. I’ve waxed lyrical about this game before, and how it manages to combine some fantastic gameplay with reverence to the past.

Sure, it’s a mobile game that has plenty of features that are inherent to that platform, but Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is also damn good at being constantly rewarding and addictive without ever asking for some cash in return. Its very concept is neat stuff as well: An original story set in the land of Lapis, that features the ability to summon Visions from the past and future, recruit them to your side and build almighty characters using tried and trusted RPG mechanics.

Good stuff! And apparently the right stuff as well, as Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is looking to expand with a new tactical RPG under the name of War of the Visions. Here’s the first trailer for it:

War is a common theme in Final Fantasy games, with two of the better spin-offs from the franchise managing to take that idea and run wild with it in the form of Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions and the beautifully underrated Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the Gameboy Advance. Will War of the Visions incorporate those classic ideas, but retune them for mobile devices?

…Hell if I know, because all I’ve seen so far is the trailer above. Still, if the process for hooking players is anywhere near as good as what Brave Exvius already does for its core RPG game, then I’ll be hooked on another one from day one. Much to Geoff’s regret probably, as he already hates me yammering on and on and on about just the one game.

I probably should not have bought him that shotgun for his birthday.

Technically, Square hasn’t announced what platforms the game will be released for, but mobile is a good bet.
