Konami no longer hosts its own extravagant E3 press conference, but that doesn’t mean it won’t have exciting things to show us. E3 officially kicks off in a few hours with Microsoft’s conference at the Galen centre in Los Angeles, but Konami’s starting the proceedings a little early, with this leaked 5-minute Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain trailer.

We’ve gotten as sneak peak at the game in progress by playing through its paid-for demo prologue, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which sets up a bit of a the backstory. If that bite-sized release is any indication of anything, The Phantom Pain is going to be an incredible experience.

Here’s the grim and dark trailer.
