Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs caused quite a stir at E3 last year; as pretty much the only really new, original IP shown at that event (Remember Me was shown off at Gamescom), it captured gamers’ intrigue. An open world game based around information, it seems like a smarter sort of GTA. Here’s a good look at some gameplay from OPM. It’s running on a PC that’s supposed to be quite similar to the PS4’s specs – but played using an Xbox 360 controller. It’s for everyone!
What do you think? Game looks really interesting – but visually, it’s quite a step down from the E3 demo that Ubisoft showed off. What gives?

Game looks way too cool, I’m actually really blown away, the game play is so smooth and fluid and the animation is really good but the graphics…There must be something going on here, maybe Beta or Alpha build ? ….. but it looks current gen

Dev work probably started way before new console specs were even thought of, still looks pretty enough.

Indeed looks pretty indeed, but to me, not next gen pretty and does not at all look like the previous trailers really. But I think you are right that development started long before new specs. This game does seem like it was meant for this gen.

I think the big thing in the next gen consoles will be bigger, more interactive worlds, not so much vastly improved graphics. I’m surprised people seem more focused on graphics than on what all the extra horsepower can do for the games themselves.

The game looks amazing and I am very excited for it, but it is coming out on ps3 and ps4, graphics would ultimately be the deciding factor, and let’s be honest, with every gen , gamers look forward to seeing new and improved graphics, not to say that it is the biggest factor, not for me in any case. But there seems to be a disparity between the previous Demo and this Gameplay demo

I agree to some extent, I must say the cloth rendering is really well done.

I’m interested in this. Like that it looks like a slower paced game where planning is important to success.

Question: Does anyone think that there will be “different” game versions for PC/PS4/NextBox and the PS3/CurrentBox?
Sir Rants-a-Lot Llew
May 13, 2013 at 10:04
Doubtful. Probably just more scalable graphics like they have with PC’s currently. Except the graphics will auto adjust depending on if you are on a PS4 or PS3.
On PS3? Use lower textures etc.

PS4 is getting more graphics enhancements in the form of a more detailed and a bit more crowd in Chicago City. I can see PC modders licking their lips already.

Well Geoffrey, my opinion’s that they showed PS4/next xbox footage at E3. Now their showing us current Gen footage that really looks good if you ask me.

Looks amazing! I just hope the level of detail we are seeing in the demos are present throughout the entire open world, although I don’t know if that will be likely 😛 I wanna walk and see the inside of every building dammit!
