Watch the next generation Xbox reveal right here

If we’ve done this right, you should be able to watch the Xbox reveal event right here. If not, well then we’ve got egg all over our delightfully red, embarrassed faces. At 7Pm SA time, Microsoft will be unveiling its next-generation Xbox – and you can watch it all go down right here. Well, unless our server’s still being mean to us.

If this isn’t working, and we are in fact, idiots, you can watch the reveal on Xbox.com or on your Xbox 360 via the Dashboard.

Suddenly “Xbox 720” seems way cooler… That’s a pretty featureless console, just a rectangular box. The current black 360 looks waaay cooler. But the new one will fit in better with the R8 000 amp in the TV cabinet.

I guess we’ll have to wait for E3 to see how the games actually stack up. #iamdisappoint

They gave it a generic design on purpose. So the fussy soccer moms will not mind it sitting in the living room to go with their furniture.

All in all, I’m definitely underwhelmed. Lame name, lame… lame… lame.. lame… lame…. It wasn’t the horse I was backing, but for the love of the gaming gods, I was at least expecting Microsoft to take it seriously. At least take gamers seriously…

    Absolutely pitiful.

It’s called evolution, M$ are moving with the times at the right time. $ony pulled the trigger for the PS3 multitasking home entertainment unit too early while M$ have evolved the home experience and made their X360 the go-to console (predominantly in America) since release with movie and tv integration.

I for one was very impressed with the virtually lag free voice operation and Smartglass interactivity. Yes, they could have shown more of the 15-odd exclusives planned for the first 12 months upon release of the device but clearly their presentation was aimed at their entire market and the bulk of their online market (spelled COD). Think of the market penetration they should achieve with a hands-free-lag-free-do-it-all (including cutting edge gaming) home experience that we’ve only seen in sci-fi movies up until now… I believe M$ are laying the foundation for the future and everyone else will be playing catch-up at this point.

My take on the news will be very different to some as I will in all likelihood purchase both consoles (no Wii U) as I am predominantly a single player gamer these days and enjoy the exclusives which are usually single player experiences.

Wow that was horrible, M$ that was really pathetic not even twenty minutes Sony gave us over 2 hours with the PS4, plus a few other game announcement and a reveal of the consoles design al before your feeble attempt at a reveal, sports games and MULTIPLATFORM TITLES, just shows you how much M$ has to offer and how much respect they actually have for gamers.
