Unify your rogues

Last night was Megarom’s launch event for Assassin’s Creed Unity… and Rogue. Yes, Rogue is the tag -long brother nobody likes who grows up to be really hot and sleeps with his brother’s girlfriend. Wait, what? Forget that, we went to a nice French venue, drank a bunch and talked about games with people we like.

I dressed up a bit French and met up with our wonderful community members, as well as Geoff, Matty and Sandy. It was a veritable who’s who of gaming media, which meant that I got to hug all my favoUrite people while drinking. Oh, and eating, too. They also had some props for us to use for taking pictures, but I don’t think we used them as intended:

There’s an assassin behind us!

Still, we got to see some Assassin’s Creed trailers on a nice big screen and with excellent sound before being offered the chance to play the games. Most of the journalists ran outside at this point to grab as much food and drink as possible. Oh, and talk and mingle. We forced Matty to take loads of pictures to capture the vibe, and here is his gallery.

Thanks again to Megarom for having these sort of events. It’s cool for us to eat, drink and be merry as a result of a rad game, and I’m just hoping that Rogue gets the attention it deserves. Oh, and we didn’t win a replica Phantom Blade that Megarom gave away. It makes me sad, and I don’t want to talk about cool prizes anymore.

If I had won that Phantom Blade it would have been disassembled and used as a model on which to start my career as an assassin.
It’s probably a good thing I didn’t win or else it would have ended up with a blade in my brother’s eye.

I’d like to thank LG, Megarom, Morrells Boutique and all the great people who were there for an excellent evening.

I spent quite some time playing Unity and only had 1 annoying bug (Arno grabbed onto the 2nd plank in the the platform and wouldn’t climb up so I had to drop in to the water and run around) and 1 interesting bug (Arno dived into a 3 cm deep puddle of water).

I loved the humorous comments in the database article (the one on Baphomet was hilarious).

I missed some of the story when I passed the controller over to my brother and went to find some food but what I did see was intriguing and had an unexpected plot twist I did not see coming (I’m usually pretty good at predicting what will happen next so things like that get bonus marks from me).

I didn’t play Rogue since I intend to get it before Unity (no upgrade costs) and didn’t want to ruin any of the story for myself.

For those who are wondering what I look like… well I am in 3 of the photos so try and guess who I am.

    Also gif just for Mathew:

I like how you all went to this event and pretended that you’re so stoked for AC Unity.

      I wasn’t when I got there.
It wasn’t until the music for the trailer started playing that I started to get interested.
But having had a few hours (I probably played longer than any other person) to play the game I can say it’s actually a lot better than I thought it would be, at least on console.

Incidentally anyone know what that song was?
I really want to see about getting it.
