So yesterday, I was invited to go and watch an early screening of Transformers 2 in a private underground movie theatre in Sandton, thanks to United International Pictures and Megarom.
Needless to say, the sequel to the original blockbuster brought it’s A-game and impressed, with action, Megan Fox, explosions, Megan Fox and big robots… and also Megan Fox.
The first Transformers videogame was not very well received by critics, but let’s not forget that titles like this still sell by the bucketload. Lazygamer.co.za has secured the South African exclusive review of Transformers 2’s, although we will only be taking a look at the online multiplayer in a private online session.
I also managed to get a snapshot of the private theatre, and man oh man do I need to get me one of these babies.
More after the jump.
^ Yes, that’s the whole theatre. No screaming kids, no cellphone conversations and surround sound that almost sits on your head. I’ll take two please.
With X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Afro Samurai and Riddick all managing to be good licensed games of late, dare I say that I am cautiously optimus-tic (see what I did there?) that Transformers 2 may be a step above its older brother?
We will be giving it a good go this week and will bring you the the low down before the game releases this Friday so stay tuned.

I am a little confused. Did Transformers2 not come out last Friday, as I went to go watch it on Saturday. Or is SA behind by a week?

Its a darn shame that majoritay of the Imax theaters shut down. The one here in the east rand only showed dicometaries of whales, dolphines and dudes snow boarding of the Alps or something…
I always wondered why Ster Kinekor/Nu metro never bought that thing

Right, then, safe to assume that it was big, brain dead fun? Subpar acting, horrible voice work but amazing special effects? Kinda like the first?
