We’ve all seen those funny or traumatic movies about military boot camp. It’s all about getting whipped into shape and doing whatever it takes to be successful under fire. Esports teams also do boot camp, but it might be different than you imagined. I went to The Hive this weekend to see what it was all about.
Here is the glorious video I shot while at The Hive in Montecasino, chatting to the guys from Energy eSports. Please watch it to the end for something extra special*. Also, at a recent ASUS event, they forced the press to play CS:GO. Not that I’m going to rub it in his face or anything, but you can even spot the professional player I managed to kill in the video.
As you can see, it’s all about getting the synergy for the team – playing together has become a bit of a luxury for many teams and its at events like this that they can play their best. Plus, with the top notch equipment and line speed available, they’re able to play under proper tournament conditions – something that can be the difference between winning and losing in a game like CS:GO.
How did Energy do in the end? Well, apparently they came second in the Orena invitational. Not too shabby!
*In case you were wondering, this is why I missed Matty so much and I’m far too happy that he’s back.
