Wicked respawns and colour-filled explosions in Sunset Overdrive

Sunset Overdrive is the biggest title coming to Xbox One this year, and it’s out next week! If you haven’t been keeping up with Insomniac’s latest crazy creation, then you need to watch this TNTeddy explosion filled launch trailer right now. Especially if you’re looking for something to pop into your new console.

Believe it or not, Sunset Overdrive does have a whiff of a story that will keep you grinding, wall running and bouncing forward. That’s really difficult to imagine when your lead character is clearly aware that he’s in a video game. When was the last time you heard a epic, climactic speech ending with “or, we won’t. But we’ll get some wicked respawn animations!”.

But let’s not forget that Sunset Overdrive is not only dripping with attitude, but also colour. Sunset City has more colour variation in it than most modern shooters combined. And it’s not only the city that lights things up. Your TNTeddy blasts produce teddy bear shaped explosion clouds, while several OD mutants literally burst and the seams and go “POP!” when taken down.

It’s definitely not a type of game that immediately sweeps everyone off their feet, which leads to the bigger burning question: Is Sunset Overdrive the reason to get an Xbox One? Unfortunately, I’m not allowed to answer that yet, but it’s certainly going to be in my review early next week.

And rest assured, you’ll be able to get your eyeballs all over that before the game launches locally on October 31st.

  1. I wonder.

Maximise awareness for the game during the ‘week of vengeance’
    Persuade viewers to purchase game
Not show bugs or glitches that may exist
    Discuss the story
Include discussion of the Nemesis system – “this really should take
up the bulk of the focus, such as how different the orcs are, how vivid
    their personalises are” etc.

I think the marketing promo’s will definitely push this game as a must have Christmas buy for the younger gamers and by younger I mean the Wii crowd 😉

Nobody will remember this game by this time next month. Hell, few care about it now and the fact that Microsoft is touting it as much as they are is hilarious.

Another perfect example of PS4 DISEASE…coip’s dead uncle below. You see Ps4 DISEASE is where jealous ps4 owners continually enter xbox one articles to spread lies and hate. What a classy bunch ! See ps4 has no exclusives worth a damn, inferior features and a laughable online service…so they are angry and jealous…and flood xbox one articles all day every day to spread hate. When you see the PS4 DISEASE just simple tell them to take their disease elsewhere.
