Will Sony release Drive Club at E3?

Drive Club

Last year Sony released The Last of Us a day after E3 ended and that game took the world by storm and won many Game of the Year titles. Granted that’s more to do with the game being incredible rather than its release date but that doesn’t mean the release date was a bad idea.

And now according to rumours it looks like Sony may try to emulate that success by releasing Drive Club on the last day of E3 this year. Dualshockers noticed that the Dell website had listed the game for sale on the 12th of June, while Sony also accidentally listed it on their reward site for a few hours. Only released games should be listed on that site.

These both follow the Italian PlayStation magazines earlier reveal that the game will be releasing in June this year.

E3 this year will, hopefully, mark the end of the hardest 12 months for Xbox and so they are working full out to win some faith back from the gaming public. Which also means that Sony need to keep pushing if they want to secure their lead in the industry right now.

With Microsoft primed to announce a plethora of games at E3 2014 it would make sense for Sony to try make everyone forget about those games quickly by releasing their highly anticipated Drive Club at the same time. Personally I‘m more interested in The Crew than Drive Club but I think they are both targeting different markets. Which one is your most anticipated?

That would explain why I own a PS3 instead of an Xbox.

There was mention of it being free on PS+ last year, that’s the only reason I ever touched NFS. It was free.

Not really looking forward to driveclub actually. Something about it just doesn’t intrigue me.
The Crew, on the other hand, has my full attention.

Driveclub, releasing in full 1080p at 60fps, soon to be patched to 30fps again via the now infamous(cough cough) standard Sony 1st DLC! ????

That’s not reporting, Waynes World is dead for a reason! Personally I prefer a more factual non biased approach!

Yeah, that’s what they mentioned ion the video. Plus you gotta a love a MS guy interviewing another MS guy. Gotta make sure the ask the right questions

          • Pieter Kruger

            April 7, 2014 at 12:26

My point is just regardless of who interviewed whom, there’s a lot of positive points that can be taken from what was said surely? But if you’re only into video game “reporting” for the hits, trash talking MS will always work…..????

I was looking forward to Drive Club with that initial reveal video.

But then they delayed it twice.

I saw some gameplay vids and did some reading and was not impressed at all. It looks like a generic NFS rip-off.

Also not being open-world and being able to customize is not appealing.

So The Crew it is then. Whenever that releases after its delays.

Colour me intrigued… I’m interested to see what this is like. But I haven’t seen very much material about it coz not a whole helluva lot exists… Which is never a good sign… But I shall wait and see.

When it comes to my speed fix, I’m still enjoying Gran Turismo 6 and recently got WRC 3 on sale at BT – it’s a lot more fun that I thought it would be and I’m thoroughly enjoying it!

this game looks utterly boring as all hell, if i wanted to just drive i would get in my car and do it. if they would strap immense damage graphics onto the cars with some kinda weapons then id be all in

Don’t like driving games at all. But, free. I’ll at least begin the download to ‘claim’ it in case someone who is into that crap comes over.
