Will the Elder Scrolls Online hit consoles this year?

waiting

And does anyone still care? We told you not long ago at all that The Elder Scrolls Online was delayed for consoles by about six months. According to a new bit of information to come out of an interview with IGN, creative director Paul Sage has revealed that while that is still the goal, The Elder Scrolls Online may not see consoles this year at all.

“I will tell you we are working round the clock to try and make that happen,” he said. “I can’t guarantee anything, that would be foolish to do, but we are certainly working with that goal in mind.”

Those of you waiting? you’ll have to wait a little mmo’. Right now though, the team is focusing on making the PC version of the MMO a better game; they’re busy adding in justice, the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood.

“The reason is we do want fully fleshed out skill systems and quest lines for that, so that’s further out. My prediction is we’ll probably get the Justice System in before we get the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood in, just because we want that system to be fully fleshed out and players used to the system before they have to use it.

“I don’t have a date lined up, but it’s a little further out. I wouldn’t expect it in the first four updates.”

It seems to me that the game was release prematurely to begin with, and they’re slowly, slowly adding features that should have been in right from the start. Months away, the console versions of the game will  have the benefit of possibly being fully functional, fully featured games by then – but I’m just not convinced the game’s worth the $15/month subscription fee.

Bah, you know what they should have done? Build co-op into Skyrim. Just you and 3/4 of your mates, rolling through Skyrim, FUSRODAH-ing and having fun!

Isn’t that how things are done now a days?

True dat, I bought the game, it looked “common” and was very beta-ish. I cancelled the subs and put it away.

      I now have purchase regret.

By the time they have a working game they won’t have anyone left playing it. Did someone say free to play.

Free to Play MIGHT make the game worth playing.

I’ve had two free weekends to spend on it and it didn’t feel worth my time to play that rather than some of the games on my backlog. It’s very disappointing. Not as an MMO but as an Elder Scrolls game.

This is what I hear and it makes me sad. Not that I actually have time for an epic MMO at the mo

I’m not convinced any game is worth $15 a month. Just too much cash. My FF14 account expired and I’m not sure when and if I will renew it.

I think it’s just $15 for the first few months or something?

Nope Nope Nope. I will not pay R700 for a game and then another R150pm thereafter, I don’t care how good it is. It just doesn’t work for me. I’m still convinced that Destiny will be my next fix.

Despite all the arm chair critics, the game is awesome and the new patch is really good. I know there are a lot of ppl that bitch about the game and are hoping it fails to F2P, but I really hope this game succeeds. Zenimax was bold with how they designed this MMO and are certainly paying for some of their actions. I reckon the console version has the ability to bring more players to the game than PC ever could and that’s why they delaying imo. So console will either make or break this game.

The game has it’s issues, I experienced that this weekend, but it’s quite pathetic that there are so many cheap critics in thier moms basement hoping the game fails because they can’t afford to pay a sub.
