Work Avoidance Wednesday: Oh h1

I love a good puzzle or logic game. It makes me feel smart at times, dumb at others, and generally is just a nice way to stretch my brain and entertainment myself at the same time. This one is ridiculously addictive and insanely fun.

H1 4x4

Oh h1 is a little logic game created by Martin Kool under the company Q42. It’s a fairly straight forward logic game – for those of you who are familiar with similar ones, you might have seen something along these lines called Takuzu or Binairo.

The game starts you off with a simple 4×4 puzzle grid. You can’t have more than two blocks of the same color next to each other in a row or a column, and all rows and columns must have the same number of each colored block. No two rows or columns can be the same.

H1 10x10

Of course it becomes much more difficult when you ramp up to the 10×10 board, counting numbers of colored blocks and changing your perspective as you switch from rows to columns and back again as you try to march your way towards a solution.

Nicely enough, the developer has included a hint button, so if you get stuck it will highlight a row or column and gently remind you of a rule. It’s a nice way of helping without obviously filling in a colored block or handing you the solution on a silver platter.

H1 10x10 1

While not ridiculously difficult, Oh h1 is incredibly satisfying – much like a Sudoku. I dare you not to get addicted; it has become a tab I permanently have open. I’m just avoiding getting the free iOS or Android version because then I will lose even more productivity.
