Some more good news for Blizzard fans out of this year’s Blizzcon is that those who subscribe to World of Warcraft will get the anticipated RPG click-a-thon Diablo III for the price of nothing. Sort of.
In the Blizzcon opening ceremony, Blizzard’s President and CEO Mike Morhaime announced the World of Warcraft Annual Pass; a sort of digital pledge that you’ll commit to a whole year of World of Warcraft, which can be billed monthly. There’s no real saving involved, but it does bag you a couple of neat extras – one of which is a full digital copy of Diablo III for no extra cost. Nice!
Here’s what you have to do to make sure you’re eligible :
- Have a World of Warcraft account existing on or before Oct. 18, 2011
- Purchase the World of Warcraft annual pass
- Login in to Battle.net to claim your free standard version of Diablo III when its released
- Profit!
In addition, you’ll also get Tyrael’s Charger, an exclusive mount for World of Warcraft, as well as guaranteed access to the next expansion’s Panda-infused beta.
For those World of Warcraft players who’re eyeing the rather sexy physical Collector’s edition of Diablo III, doing the same will get 4 months added to your World of Warcraft subscription.
- Buy the Diablo III collector’s edition
- Have a World of Warcraft account existing on or before Oct. 18, 2011
- Purchase the World of Warcraft annual pass
- Enter the included Diablo 3 license key into your associated Battle.net
- Profit!
