For those of you who owned a Sega Saturn and either Powerslave or Duke Nukem, Death Tank should be firmly engraved in your memory. For those of you who don’t know what Death Tank is, think Worms meets Iraq. While the rumour has been around for sometime after the name appeared on the German’s SKU ratings board but now it has been officially confirmed.

The revamp is being handled between Snowblind Studios and Flat Games but is being overseen by the original creator, Ezra Dreisbach.

The game will include a few new features such as local four player battles and 8 player online capabilities. Upgradable Tanks and various power ups will also be seen in the new game. the graphics have also been drastically improved in comparison to its predecessor.

So far, now release date or price has been set.

I have a feeling this could be the game XBLA  has been missing after the mediocre showing of worms.

Death Tank… I might be showing my age here but I think the mother of this game is “Scorched Earth – The Mother of All Games”… heh what a awesome game at the time.

That is the general consensus but I guess I’m showing my age if I tell you Scorched Earth was a bit before my gaming years 😉

Also remember this, showing my age.
8 player sound like fun, will wait and see.

Scorched Earth is on my all time greatest games list. Even a copy coming to Live/PSN would make me happy.
