We received a press release this week from Microsoft notifying us that they are going to be embarking on a bit of a journey around the country throughout the summer.

Microsoft are going to be traveling to to many of the popular holiday spots, beginning at the Boogaloos skate park at Bright Water Commons in Johannesburg and then moving its way down towards the coast and finishing up in Cape Town.

The Summer Tour Stage will be displaying many of Microsoft’s newest and most interesting titles, from Gears of War 2 and Fable 2 down to the more casual friendly titles such as Lips and You’re in the Movies.

If there is anyone who is going to be traveling down to the coast this holiday and wants to see if it will be in their area, I have posted up the full schedule after the jump.

why dont MS just embark on a journey of bringing LIVE to SA? – honestly, their marketing effors mean nothing if they are only promoting half a product.

We could all get together and stage a mass protest against our lack of Live at Camps Bay instead of looking at the ladies in bikini’s….
    😯 😯

Like that’s going to happen 😀

let’s not go down this road… again, MS are infact (contrary to popular belief) doing their very best to get MS into SA. This has been reflected in many articles with anyone that’s actually had a chance to deal with them.

And just to clarify Xbox live is not part of the XBOX360 product the XBOX360 console is the product. Xbox live is an additional service so they’re not “marketing/promoting half a product” but the XBOX360 Console itself.

Have you ever switched on your XBox without the network connection plugged in on the NXE? It is a mess of useless tiles. The XBox 360 is built around LIVE especially since the NXE and going on a big marketing spree without supporting LIVE in my opinion definitely marketing half a product. Why do we not have LIVE? New Zealand, Australia and Mexico all have LIVE. Are they waiting until they sell more XBoxes? Is that not a bit of a chicken-and-egg situation?
