Crysis 2 didn’t need to engage its Nanosuit’s cloaking ability to go slightly under the radar last week thanks to the launch of the new brand new Nintendo 3DS that seemed to steal almost all of the spotlight.

Even so, it still managed to outgun those cute little 3D puppies and completely outsmart any flying Pilotwing Mii assassins to break through to the number one spot in the UK, also ending Homefront’s very short one week stint at the top.

Seeing the anticipated shooter launch to number one wasn’t a big surprise, however, seeing how many were sold on each platform is a different story altogether.

CVG reports that in the UK, Chart-Track data is showing some staggering results, as the PS3 pulled in 27 percent of total sales, with the PC pulling in a pretty measly 14 percent of total sales, although we think that could very well be down to them not tracking digital downloads. It will be interesting to see if we can get some of those stats pretty soon.

The data puts the Xbox 360 version on top with a massive 58 percent of sales with one percent of sales missing for no apparent reason, maybe their mathematics are just lacking.

So then, to summarize:

  • Xbox 360: 58%
  • Playstation 3: 27%
  • PC: 14%
  • A very unpopular mystery system that no one knows about: 1%

I picked a copy up for myself this weekend, and while I’m enjoying the smarter pace of the action and levels and the pretty-as-hell graphics, I’ve been experiencing some very choppy framerates (Xbox 360) which are a little tough to handle especially in some areas that feel a little over-saturated with effects, anyone else seeing/feeling the same? We do have a full review coming in the not-too-distant future, so keep your eye out.

What do you think of the game so far? What do you think of the large gap in sales?
