Next week’s Xbox Live update brings the console numerous new features, one of them being a digital distribution channel for retail games. Microsoft have now given ballpark pricing for games included in the service; the downloadable games will set you back between 1600 and 2400 MS points. What’s that in real world currency?
Based off the current pricing for 2100 UK point cards from Evogames and MSpoints, games will set you back between R175 and R285, which isn’t bad at all – until you factor in the premium bandwidth costs we have to endure. The fact that many of these games can be picked up for cheap coupled with the ridiculous pricing of larger hard drives for the system leads me to believe the the Games on Demand service won’t be a popular option for South Africans – that is if it’s even available to us, of course.
Hit the jump for a list of the Launch Games on Demand titles, so you can see exactly what you won’t be downloading on August 11th.

“the downloadable games will set you back between 1600 and 24000 MS points.”
24000 points seems a bit excessive for a game:D

Damn you and your eternal optimism! That list looks like something that Germany would be proud of. Where are the games that will turn me into a reject of society?
