Late last week the notorious hacker group, LuzSec, released a file containing thousands of email addresses and passwords and asked people to then try and use them on popular services like PayPal, Netflix and Xbox Live.
This was then accidently reported by a large portion of the Internet as proof that Xbox Live was hacked.
But don’t worry Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox Live has not been hacked and while we don’t know where these details came from it seems that LulzSec was just asking people to try them with all the popular services to cause as much damage as possible.
The file containing the details was quickly removed by the webhost but not before it had been downloaded a couple of thousand times.
LulzSec appear to be enjoying their new found notoriety and are getting very cocky about it, which is great because that generally means they will be caught soon.
