Xbox Live’s Games with Gold for May include Golf, pirate parties and comics

I’ve largely stopped caring about the games that come with Xbox Live’s Games With gold and the PlayStation Instant game collection. Sure, there’s the odd gem that comes along that I’ve yet to play and I’ll happily download those games, only to realise that I never actually play them. I have entire libraries across both consoles of games that I will probably never sit down to play. I’m sure many people are still excited by the prospect of “free” games every month, but they’ve lost their lustre for me.

That sheen is especially missing when the collection of gratis games is middling or just not for me. That’s the case with May’s Games with Gold, which don’t tickle me in the least. The Xbox One games next month include multiplayer party game Marooners and The Golf Club 2019 Featuring PGA Tour.

HB Studios’ licenced golf game is by all accounts an excellent representation of the sport – but when that sport is something that makes my insomnia moot, then it’s hard to get excited. On the backwards compatible Xbox 360 front, subscribers get Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon and the admittedly entertaining Comic Jumper. Disappointing. To sum:
