User interfaces are pretty much one of the most overlooked parts of game design. Ever since this particular generation of gaming began, from the Xbox through to the Wii U, it’s been a core part of the gaming experience. We’ve already seen Sony’s Shuehei Yoshida looking cool as ice as he demonstrated some of that PS4 UI at Gamescom. Well here’s what the Xbox One UI looks like.
In case you can’t watch the video above because of legalese and other such copyright-protecting nonsense, then here’s a bunch of screenshots for you of the dashboard. It’s pretty much exactly the same as what we saw behind closed doors at E3 and Gamescom, with the UI going for that Windows 8 look.
Personally, I think it suits the Xbox One console just fine. And it’s a smooth-lookin’ interface, where less is more. I’ll get some fanboy flak for this, but I think the Xbox One UI is far more fluid than the PS4 interface which is going to look clunky and overcrowded in comparison.
It’s still a beta dashboard in the video and pics above, but that will most likely be the final look of it when the console launches here some time next year.

PC,Nokia and Xbox needs to have the same UI layout. Look at the backlash when FNB changed theirs overnight

Yeah and that was a huge improvement actually.

Ya, people are just resistant to change, look at the way android phones are going. Mine is covered in Widgets, which are pretty much tiles.

The FNB change took a little while to get used to, but it’s not bad now that I am.

Ah but with FNB it wasn’t just the look and feel.. they lost a lot of functionality and basic things simply didn’t work..
They’ve fixed most of those now and while I don’t like the look I have to admit it is blazingly fast

The nice thing is the continuity of the interfaces across all the platforms.

Is it so hard to make the home pages of these UI’s to display your whole background picture? The only thing i can see from these leaked pictures is that the background picture is hidden the fuck away with shit on top of it.
buying background themes for Xbox One is the same as putting your money into the toilet, shit on it and then flash it away.

If anyone wants to know, i typed flush but there’s shit all over it and that’s why you see flash.
