Earlier this year Microsoft made the not so surprising announcement that Dead Rising 3, a former Xbox One exclusive, would be making the jump to PC. It’s been less than a year since the launch of the Xbox One, and yesterday it lost yet another exclusive launch title to the Master Race.
Ryse: Son of Rome will be coming to PC this October. The Crytek developed hack and slash released exclusively on Xbox One at launch, with the studio facing numerous financial difficulties since then. Ryse will release digitally and at retail, with all DLC included and 4K resolution support. In case you like seeing your PC bleed under the stress of CryEngine 3.
Crytek believes Ryse will be the new benchmark for PC visuals, with the studio now free to build a game without hardware constraints. Cheap shot at the Xbox One, don’t you think?
“We’ve given our team the opportunity to show what CRYENGINE can really achieve, without compromising quality, thanks to the incredible hardware available now to PC gamers. Ryse will be a benchmark PC graphics showcase this year and probably for a long time in future.”
The game received fairly low review scores at launch, with most agreeing that the title prioritised spectacle over substance. That’s unlikely to change for the PC release, but it is interesting to see so many Xbox One titles making the leap to PC.
It’s definitely not the rule yet, but it doesn’t exactly help the image of the Xbox One as a strong platform to release exclusively for.
At least this way, Ryse will actually be able to run at 1080p.

It’ll almost always be at least a year I think before it goes to pc probably. I’d hate to wait that long for a game personally. Anyway, if a game is good it’ll sell good on all platforms! Hell, I got Diablo 3 on pc, Xbox360 and can’t wait for the X1 edition! ????

I don’t think PS games will go to PC, there is just no sense in it!! You are trying to get people to buy your hardware over the other ones on the market!! That is the first thing they want to achieve, isn’t it? So why would I buy the One, if it’s games are going to PC all the time? Wouldn’t I then buy a PC? I have been saying this since day 1 of this new gen, I will buy the One when the slim comes to market! But if all the games on the 1 is available on a PC, then I would rather buy a PC and get way more games for way cheaper and still have my PS4 to play all their exclusives!!

PS4 has many great AAA games that gamers love. That’s why it’s 9+ million in sales and growing. Sony’s large number of well funded 1st parties will ensure PS4 has a ton of great AAA exclusives, as many or more than PS3.
1st/2nd party studios include Japan Studio, Polyphony Digital, Naughty Dog, SCE Bend, SCE San Diego, SCE Santa Monica, Sucker Punch, Pixel Opus, Evolution Studios, Guerrilla Games, Guerrilla Cambridge, SCE London, Media Molecule, Ready at Dawn, Quantic Dream, etc.

The console vs PC debate is based on us having exclusive games that is supposed to force the PC guys into buying a console to be able to play the cool games that we get to play. but giving them the games that is supposed to make them want a console makes no sense whatsoever!!! It is the single most stupid thing MS is doing since they tried to make the One always online!! I told you earlier this week that I thought MS was upping their game with the One making it a good alternate to the PS4 and there they go and throw it away in 3 days’ time!! They are all idiots!!

I disagree about the Console vs PC debate being about exclusives. If I may borrow from @UrbanCr33per:disqus he sums it up perfectly “No … the whole reason people buy a console is because they prefer console gaming to PC gaming … they prefer the whole ecosystem that the console offers … because, let’s face it, PC’s got better graphics. PS4 has many great AAA games that gamers love. That’s why it’s 9+ million in sales and growing. Sony’s large number of well funded 1st parties will ensure PS4 has a ton of great AAA exclusives, as many or more than PS3.
1st/2nd party studios include Japan Studio, Polyphony Digital, Naughty Dog, SCE Bend, SCE San Diego, SCE Santa Monica, Sucker Punch, Pixel Opus, Evolution Studios, Guerrilla Games, Guerrilla Cambridge, SCE London, Media Molecule, Ready at Dawn, Quantic Dream, etc.
For some reason PS4 keeps selling like hotcakes despite attempts to downplay its library. All 3 consoles have good exclusive games, it’s only fanboys trying to trash one or the other and pretend it has “no gaems lolol”.

By losing it as an exclusive, Microsoft lose yet another game that could potentially sell more units by being exclusive. We may all hate exclusivity but it plays a major role in sales.

No … the whole reason people buy a console is because they prefer console gaming to PC gaming … they prefer the whole ecosystem that the console offers … because, let’s face it, PC’s got better graphics. It is a different platform, a different market. There is a huge divide between PC gaming and console gaming. The only place where game exclusives make a difference is when deciding between PS4 and Xbox One. If you’re a console gamer, then yes, game exclusives can influence your decision between PS4 and Xbox One … but if you’re a console gamer, then it’s completely irrelevant what games go to PC. I mean that’s a bit like saying “PC loses another exclusive” because they’ve released a mobile version of Baldur’s Gate on Android … it’s really irrelevant because the two platforms target completely different types of gamers.

I agree, BUT Lazygamer is a business and should be run as such! They know who their core audience are (just look at the forums on here! LOL!) They sell advertising based on hits and throwing the MS haters a bone(pun intended…) or two everyday justifies that! The ponies’ brain work as such that a good article about Sony will only get 10% as much hits as a negative article about MS! This sometimes forces LG to be biased to some extent. It’s all about the money, but then again, everybody would’ve done the same if it puts food on the table! ????

I am not sure it is sensationalism per se. The problem isn’t LG, it’s MS. They had a disaster PR with the One, and as a owner of original Xbox and 360, I am objective enough to see that. The PS4 reveal trounced them even though a lot of that may have been smoke and mirrors. And many people haven’t forgiven MS for their initial policies, to the extent anything they do now is seen as a 180, never mind that it may be closer to what most actually wanted in the first place.
MS came out with tactics that no self-respecting gamer wanted; it was aimed squarely at America, etc. Heck MS forgot about the rest of the world! Even now most territories are One-less which is a real shame.
I am not a PC gamer at all, but I can see why the Master Race would want to know this – another reason not to get a console, be it PS4 or One.
Right now MS having a hard time selling consoles generally. They have got to do something – their E3 was not bad at all, but there was nothing that wowed me personally i.e. nothing they announced hadn’t already been spoken about.
And then we come to MS’ lack of reveal for rest of us. I came within one mouse click of importing one – ended up saying “Fuck this I am too old to go trying to find games when PS4 is landing with games I can walk into and buy.”
So right now the One will wait from my perspective – as hard as that may be.
PS – chat to me again on 24th and I might have One…my brain says wait, heart doesn’t.

Ryse will be about a year old by the time that it releases on PC … it’s old news. Anyone who might have based their choice (of which platform to buy) on Ryse, would have bought an Xbox One a lot time ago. If Ryse really was a platform-seller, everyone wanted Ryse would have gone for Xbox One by now already. That’s why I say … does anyone really care if Ryse goes to PC?

Dude, gaming journalism is the pits. If Kotaku says PS4 is teh suxxors, every other gaming site will follow that trend. It’s comparable to the Kasdashian’s and the Biebers of the world. If you are not doing what the cool kids are doing, then you are seeing as otherwise.
Yes the article is written in a distasteful manner that actually makes you think if gamers really do sleep over a year old gaming losing exclusivity.
The journalist came across poorly noting that which ever platform you are playing Ryse on, MS still wins.

I dont do pc gaming….so for me, if the game is on xbox and pc it is still a exclusive….because the game is not on the PS
The only game i play on pc is sid meier’s civilization and cant wait for sid meier’s civilization beyond earth

No sorry…ryse is exclusive to microsoft platforms. Not allowing developers to make profit in the pc world would just be stupid. Take your sony funded internet lies and propaganda articles back to sony….with the words lying hypocrite on it. I’ll give you an example of a true lost exclusive…no mans sky coming to pc ! Oh sorry this is truly a lost exclusive since its timed and most likely will be on xbox one as well.
