Phil Spencer has been filled with candid answers to questions lately, and it’s made for an intriguing bit of insight into the Xbox brand plan. He explained why he doesn’t feel the need to get into drama-fueled fights with competitors and has generally just continued the “good guy” approach. Now it seems like his personal views are being taken on board by Xbox in general, and might just make the brand better for it.
Over on twitter, Spencer replied to some questions about Xbox and it sounds like we’re going to win if Xbox continues this vision:

I think it’s important to have competition in the market, but that it has to be built on something other than silly console wars. Neither brand would be able to sell consoles just by fighting the other; it’s all about building the best possible console with the best possible games and letting gamers make their own decisions.
This year, I think Xbox has a stronger holiday line up than PS4, but the PS4 already has a solid catalogue of games and generally delivers better performance on third party titles. It’s going to be a tough call for many gamers this holiday, but I think if both companies can keep the focus on creating excellent experiences for gamers, we will all win, regardless of our platforms of choice.

I want to own both, I have no loyalty to any of the consoles. I’m interested in the games itself. But begging them to donate me one is just cheaper XD And hopeful on a whole new level.

Is it just me or is MS turning out to be the console company Sony told us they were going to be before launch? By that I mean:
-Creating better gamer experiences.
-Taking customers feedback into consideration.
-Actually talking to customers on twitter instead of bragging on getting platinums on certain exclusives.
-Adding features customers REALLY want!!
-Prepared to invest in projects, even if its short term. Rather then promoting Kickstarter games they dont want anything to do with.
The list goes on and on… Where Sony on the other hands is solely focused on turning the PS4 into a budget wise streaming device. Just my 5c.

If the CNA sale at rage is anything to go by for the future of console’s in SA, Xbox1 is in for hard times, the ps4 vanished so fast.

Yeah, but my cars are decorated with pretty much the first design the server spits out for me. Could not really be bothered with design work.
The game is fun, for a little while, but I never play it as much as NFS back in the day.

Yes. And tracks get boring quite quickly. I think Horizon is better like that, but I have only the demo. Is ok to play, actually more fun,nothing like racing your car through a field, then onto the tarmac.

I was more than happy with Project Cars. Don’t need yearly licensing rosters to fling a F1 car around at 60fps. As for the flagship franchise Halo, Destiny kind of trumped it. So many good 3rd party titles on both consoles yet 2014 kind of went into PS4s favor thanks to the better resolutions of cross console ports.
The Bone had a very poor start out of the gate. They lost 12 months worth of early adopters. The Early adopter makes all the difference in gaining momentum. Just look at the PS3, They also had a 12 month late start and it took 7 years for them to catch up to the 360 sales.
The 360 at-least tried to reach the Japanese market by being the best console for Jrpgs. They had some good games.

True dude I really don’t like the whole yearly release of games like AC,COD and so on. I am hoping NFS will satisfy my racing game craving! Very true seems third party is taking over less and less exclusives they also do run better on a PS4.
I think with whole can’t use used games and always online bullcrap they had people kind of got a bad taste for it. Also PS4 is just from a hardware point of view a more powerful console why would you chose the other one.
For me personally I am just too use to PS and I like they games more to be honest I just can’t stomach the xbox controller.

Until Dawn will for sure get when it’s on special looks like it’s fun….Yeah I must agree with Uncharted amazing games:) Yeah I think it will be a tough choice between Witcher and MGSV for game of the yeat but I have a feeling Witcher will take it, was expecting Batman to be in the runnings as well before it came out buut not anymore…

Love the games line up right now so much!! Finished Gears last week. Hopped on to the Taken King on my PS4 then Batman. Got a nice backlog for the holidays now. MGS V, Uncharted Collection, Halo 5, Witcher 3, The Last of Us Remastered. LOVE IT!

Saw the XBOX One in action on the weekend and I must agree. Though with the Ps4 it sometimes feel that there isn’t enough space on the screen for everything. you have to go to your library to see all your games and it feels cluttered and unorganized
