Yesterday the entire population of America was killed… in COD Black Ops

It’s always pretty staggering to see how popular certain titles are and how many people are actually playing them.

This latest Infographic comes from Spijkermat.nl and is a cross section of an average 24 hours in the life of the Call of Duty Black Ops servers.

Over the last day 323 956 712 people have been killed online which is greater than the population of the USA, around 7 times the population of South Africa.

What is also very interesting though is if your starting weapon isn’t either the MP5K or M16 then you more than likely don’t know what you are doing as those 2 weapons make up 89% of all the starting weapons in the game.

Strange that some people can not get tired of shooting each other in the face every 5 seconds.

I agree Freddie, I enjoy the occasional FPS match (currently playing Bad Company 2 online) but even I get FPS fatigue. I have to mix up my gaming, RPG for some nights, an FPS (multiplayer) over the weekend, a driving sim on Tuesdays etc.

So, I never really understood how some folk can play Blops ever day, for weeks or even months, are they merely mindlessly grinding or do they still enjoy the game? I play Blops once in a while, but after a couple of hours online, I have to play something else (same with Bad Company 2).

I like Black Ops don’t get me wrong, but I can’t see how people sit around all day playing it either. Getting blown up every 2 seconds isn’t my idea of fun. Unless its on training mode and I have an assortment of attack helicopters and dogs lined up, then its hilarious.
