Here’s yet another reason to love Valve. Unless you’re a PS3 owner, that is.
In the latest bit of DLC for Left 4 Dead 2, The Passing, Valve have stuck a little homage to another company that excels at making zombie games – Capcom.
Spotted in the pool hall level in the game is a note scrawled across the wall – and it’s from none other than Dead Rising protagonist Frank West.
Otis,
Out of film, no helicopter.
Zombies are too fast.
Not going to make it.-Frank West
That’s probably why he’s not in the sequel, then. To be honest, I’d rather that annoying Otis bastard be the one to succumb to the living dead. Frank West’s covered wars, you know!
Really cool to see cross-game nods like this from developers – even if it isn’t the first Dead Rising nod in Left 4 Dead. In the first game, one of the achievements – Zombie Genocidest, attained by killing 53,395 infected – was a nod to a similar achievement in Capcom’s zombie game.
