Microsoft has just released there Xbox 360 and Halo 3 sales figures and I have to say they are quite impressive.
Obviously Microsoft isn’t the most unbiased source but they haven’t been caught lying about sales figures (yet) as far as I know so I am giving them the benefit of the doubt here.
Microsoft has sold 17.7 million Xbox 360’s and over 8.1 million copies of Halo 3.
8.1 million copies.. that is an astronomical amount and really does show how important that franchise is to Microsoft.
However what is even more impressive is that according to the official NPD (American) numbers the software attachment rate of the 360 is 6.9:1, which means the average 360 owner has 6.9 games…. Which is way higher than the competition.
Mass Effect has also managed to shift 1.6 million copies in its first 6 weeks of life.
