ZAR Steam vouchers come to Evopoints and you can win one

SA steam

I love Steam vouchers. They are pretty much my go-to birthday presents for my brothers-in-law. They’re easy to get without needing to go to a random mall and buy a stupid gift card, plus I know they will be used to buy whatever games, DLC or cosmetics that the guys might want rather than me needing to purchase something for them off their wish lists (and maybe get them something they forgot to remove). However, when Steam went local, I struggled to find local Steam vouchers. Well, that struggle is now over.

That’s right, Evopoints has stock of Steam vouchers for your favorite South African gamer once more. You can buy them in really weird increments (R70, R160, R220, R500, R800) over on their site. We have a couple to give away, though, and welcome you to embrace your shopping tendencies.

That’s right, we’re giving away two, yes two R500 Steam vouchers to our awesome South African Steam store users thanks to the cool guys from Evopoints. How can you win? Well, it’s time to shop. Sure, you might spend the R500 towards DOOM or Total War: Warhammer, but I know you PC gamers, you prefer to get games for cheap and grow your backlog. So, leave us a comment explaining which games you’d buy with an R500 voucher.

Personally, I think I might pick up Stellaris to see what all the fuss is about, or maybe finally cave and get Stardew Valley. If I didn’t already have it, I’d grab Civ V, or at the very least my missing DLC for it (I have everything now).

So, if you want R500 in free backlog money, head to the comment section and give us your shopping list. Entries obviously only applicable (or useful) to those using the South African Steam store. We will be drawing a winner on Friday, so be sure to get your shopping on now.

Total War: Warhammer already preordered, Doom BETA wasn’t that impressive so will wait for it to hit a sale before buying for the Campaign.

Might use it to preorder No Man’s Sky, or more likely Civilisation 6. Can’t wait to see the expanding cities in 6, build a sprawling metropolis!

            May 16, 2016 at 14:50

Wow. Not bad at all. Mine also needs some cleaning up.

            May 16, 2016 at 14:57

Sheesh. That’s a bit much. But a Tele…man, few things are as cool as a Tele for me. The one guitar I’ve always wanted. I considered selling my 7 string for it, but I think I might miss it too much. :/

Yes, Exciting is a word. So is scary. Been through it once, but wow, the sleep loss the first little while, as I believe in being there with the wife, most of the time, when the little one is hungry at 02:00 and then 05:00 again.

One of my work mates said he slept in a different room, cause his wife understood he needed to work. I think the man needs to be there and suck it up. In this together and all that.

My wife and I have a really good way of doing it currently, we put our eldest in bed at about 7:30, to which the littlest one is already in bed from about 6, me and wifey then spend some time together until about 9 when she goes to sleep, I then stay awake until 23:00 playing games and then feeding the little one, it gives my wife the chance to sleep through and allows me to game for 2 or so hours every night. This is also because I literally cannot wake up in the middle of the night, I sleep like rocks wish they could….

          • miaau

            May 16, 2016 at 15:18

My wife will be breastfeeding again, so unless she express’s I cannot help feed AND we want to be be careful, at least in the beginning for the whole nipple confusion thing.

My wife believes in gentle parenting, i.e. the baby, to a certain extent, guides things.

My wife is asleep between 9 and 10 (10 being pretty much the latest), then I can game till about midnight, then bed. But with new baby, I may sleep earlier, cause I can and will wake up at odd hours.

I have been wanting to play some Splinter Cell for a while now…Conviction was still the one I enjoyed the most, simply because of those quick takedowns and executions…

          • Captain JJ bound

            May 16, 2016 at 14:36

Yea, it’s really good fun, even for its age. Blacklist was decent enough too and fun in co-op.

          • Greylingad[He Charges!]

            May 16, 2016 at 14:37

I loved the Co-Op in both though, the only thing, and this is something everyone would say, is that Michael Ironside should have remained the voice of Sam Fisher…

I agree with Zoe. I would buy Stellaris to see what the fuss is about, truly.

What else? Well, I do not game much on PC, have all the CIV V and Stuff?

Maybe, maybe try the Galactic Civ game from Stardock. Maybe. I sort of went off their stuff after learning the crap out of GalCiv 2 and then feeling sort of, somehow, betrayed and let down by the game.

I’d save it for the upcoming Steam sale and spend a massive amount on Indie Dev’s (like 50 bucks or so)

    And then hopefully get:
    – Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster
    – Mortal Kombat X
    – The Witcher 3 DLC

I’ll be using the voucher to purchase all of my favourite childhood games that have slowly been making their way onto the Steam store, all remastered but still great 🙂 Childhood games such as Sacred, Dungeon Siege, the Tycoon games, all which bring me great nostalgia and that I desperately want to get my hands on! It would be a dream come true to be able to play some of my favourites again.

    Arkham Knight -R429
Request a refund for Arkham Knight +R429

The legend of heroes: Trails in the sky – because I’m pretty sure that what I feel for this game is real love, in spite of the fact that I’ve never actually played it. -R219

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain – Still haven’t gotten around to it despite being a massive fan of the franchise.
    -R219.

The change would probably go towards the Definitive Edition of Ori and the Blind Forest.

When I started reading this I was convinced at waiting for the summer sale to hit and see if I can buy about 10 games for that voucher…It would be a good challenge I thought but then you mentioned Stellaris…..I need Stellaris! So, this voucher will definitely go towards that and then the final with the remaining money I’ll pick up Homeworld Remastered.

Or…maybe still wait for the summer sale, get Stellaris (hopefully) at a discount, which means my backlog will increase even more…I wonder if Valve know what they do to us when they have these sales….

I would bolster my couch-coop games collection with as many as I can fit into R500. Been really enjoying the social aspect of having a friend in the same room and shouting at them without the effort of setting up a LAN.

1 – Lovers in a dangerous spacetime: R 159 (for me and the lady friend)
    2 – Lego Worlds: R 159 (for me and my minecraft-loving brother)
3 – Keep talking and nobody explodes: R 159 (for the aforementioned shouting)
4 – Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition: R 409 (for me and anyone that likes epic RPGs)
5 – Assault Android Cactus: R 159 (for twin stick shooter goodness)

Total is quite a bit over R500 but if I am lucky I can get them on sale 😀
