Rumour: Zombies only rising in Advanced Warfare’s Season Pass

Happy Call of Duty day? Personally, this used to be a far more exciting day back in the early Modern Warfare to era. I used to get all sorts of overly excited for every year’s Call of Duty launch, especially those which had the co-operative Zombie mode. Not only am I far less excited this year, but zombies are also being ripped out of the core package.

Which isn’t to say it was there to begin with, but it is odd to see one of the best Call of Duty modes relegated to Season Pass DLC. That’s right, if you want to get in on some futuristic undead killing with some friends, you’re going to have to invest a lot more into this year’s blockbuster shooter.

The news was leaked via an email sent to retailers, which detailed the content that Advanced Warfare’s Season Pass would contain. There are four individual packs again, each retailing for $15 and collectively costing $49.99. The email detailed some of the weapons and maps that would be included, but also made mention of a Zombies mode returning. Other than that, there isn’t much else to go on.

That irks me a little, especially since I consider Zombies as one of the core pillars to my Call of Duty experience. Having to pay extra for a mode that as previously been part of the main package just sounds horrible, even if Advanced Warfare ships with its own other brand of co-operative fun. Are you enough of a fan to splash out a little extra for it though? Are you even picking up Call of Duty this year?

LOL. They do, they do. Glad I am not a COD fan. This smells of a typical milk the customers for more cash thingy. One good thing about this game is that the 12 year olds will now be destiny cleansed and the real Destiny players can carry on.

COD knew that Zombies were quite popular, so I am a little surprised by this.
but then again, from a commercial perspective, it makes a lot of sense to make DLC’s. For example, your copy of a new game costs R500 – 800. Add a downloadable skin, add anywhere from R70 upwards to that price tag. Make additional episodes or levels available and rename them “lost chronicles, the secret tapes, aftermath, prologue” etc. add another R200 – 400 per episode. repeat this last step at least four to five times, and you end up with a “complete” game which you paid well in excess of R2000 – 3000 for.

So essentially you are buying the game, over and over

They’re not content selling a game for $60. They want to make more money out of it. Seeing how popular the zombie co-op was in previous COD games it makes sense for them to add it as DLC so that you have to pay more. Budget wise I can only support one game with a season pass a year seeing as it can cost the same as three games.

Personally I’ve never been a fan of Zombie modes so I don’t care that much… however the fact that you’re now going to get less of a game for the same price is pretty pathetic
