To all the PS3 owners out there, the new PS3 system software is now available. As far as we can tell it doesn’t really do much, the original post saying that “This is a relatively minor update to improve stability of some PS3 titles.†Probably not a bad idea to get it anyway.
From what we have heard, it has nothing to with any of the problems users have been having with GTA IV. The update is available in the XMB so when you get home, you know what to do.

Gats! WordPress doesn’t like my “quick posting”
Would be interesting to know what the size is of the update. To date all PS3 updates have been rather large… so what would the size be of a “relatively minor update”?

Rockband required it for the ingame store, I dont know why it would, my system has never been buggy. sony needs to be less secretive. I wonder if its a precautionary measure for ID theft. like… what happened to microsoft. or maybe the patch will make games… actually pop out of the TV. going from… 3D… to 4D.

I’ve had no issues touchwood on my GTA IV past the first few days of release. I think the theory of the Gamespy servers being overloaded and the patch to minimize this has squashed those freezeups. Mine was hanging up a LOT the first 2 or 3 days after launch, so my console was one of the affected ones….
