You might wonder if an aesthetic case mod – like the Gears of War 3 Vault from Calibur11 – is the right thing for you. Sure, it has some nifty features – like a controller cradle, better airflow and cooling, and an interactive Gears of War omen that lights up when you get downed – but it’s also  made of plastic, and if you’re not exactly a fan of that blood-splattered look, perhaps unsightly.

It’s easy to imagine that its plastic construction would mean its a low quality product…but you’d be wrong, as an incredibly comprehensive review of the Gears of War 3 Vault testifies.

It kicks of with a bit of back story – The Vault was won as a prize at one of BTGames’ midnight launches, includes an unboxing video accompanied by pictures and details the assembly and operation of the case – and is well worth checking out if you’re even marginally interested in Gears of War.

“It encompasses the very essence of Gears of War perfectly and delivers in every way it promises to,” says Tegato.com “Once fitted and in full operation it really is something special to behold and is sure to be the envy of my mates for years to come.  Let’s face it, nothing adds massive amounts of street cred to a man cave like black skulls that randomly glow with a creepy red pulse.”

Remember, we still have two of the Gears of War 3 Vaults from Calibur11 to give away courtesy of the lovely people at Microsoft. Entry is easy – just fill in the form here. Each unique e-mail address you use grants you a single entry – and after that review, I think you’ll agree that the Vault is a high-quality item that combines both form and function.
