PlayStation All-Stars Review Round up

I’ve not begrudged Sony and Superbot for pretty much straight out copying Super Smash Bros for their own PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. My argument is that it really doesn’t matter if it ends up being really fun. It’s out now in the US – and judging by reviews for the cross-compatible PS3 and Vita brawler, it is indeed fun.

Here’s what the (mostly!) pretty high scores say:

It seems to be just the thing for loyal fans of Sony’s (relatively) long gaming history. "It’s a complete package with a few flaws, but ultimately a brilliant purchase for both PlayStation and fighting fans,"  says The Sixth Axis.

Eurogamer, a little more stolid, calls it  "An enjoyable, workable [Super Smash Bros. Brawl] clone – and a surprisingly un-cynical one – but lacking the raw ingredients to truly replicate Nintendo’s success in this niche."

IGN says that  "PlayStation All-Stars is flawed, but fun. Every fan of the PlayStation brand should give it a go."

Remember, buying the game for PS3 gives you a code to download the Vita version for free – and allows cross-play between both titles, which is pretty damned awesome. The game will be available locally on November 30.
