SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy (1)

Street Fighter II changed everything. Its popularity and ubiquity revitalised the 90’s arcade scene, spawning dozens of fighting games to piggy-back on its explosive acclaim. One of the companies that did it best was SNK, whose plethora of fighting games spawned massive franchises of their own. I grew up playing games like Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, Samurai Shodown and King of Fighters, so I get a little bit excited whenever a new SNK game comes along.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy looked like a terribly pervy fighting game featuring scantily clad renditions of the girls and women from various SNK fighting games past. I thought that while its content and art-direction would be questionable, at least the fighting game bits would be great.

I was right about one of those things.

SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy (7)

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is little more than an excuse to parade around sexy, large-breasted anime-styled depictions of women. After the last King of Fighter tournament, a mysterious figure teleports the women from SNK games to a magical pocket dimension, to battle each other. For some or other reason, when they wake up in the creepy mansion where they’re held captive, they’re missing half of their clothing or are dressed up in some sort of gaudy fetishized outfit. Barely-there attire, giant breasts and exposed pubis mons are on show, with their captor playing the creepy pervert angle; there are cameras around the mansion that regularly zoom in on the fighters’ massive mammaries.

Fan-wielding favourite Mai has always been sexualised, but here it’s even worse. For some reason she’s wearing the tiniest of bikinis, adorned with a cow-print pattern – and she has a cowbell around her neck. Even SNK staple Terry Bogard isn’t spared this humiliation. He’s been transformed into a busty woman, wearing the shortest shorts; her trademark red cap now emblazoned with “Fatal Cutie” instead of Fatal Fury. I’m not a prude out on some moral crusade, but this is trashy exploitative nonsense. The whole thing feels like some teenage boy’s masturbatory fan-fiction fantasy.

It would almost be okay if the fighting game mechanics were good, but they’re not. The actual fighting has been stripped of any nuance, reduced to a simple combination of light and heavy attacks, special attacks and throws. There are no special per-character inputs for moves. No quarter circles or charges; special moves are instead initiated by a combination of a direction and the special attack button. There aren’t even any crouching attacks, so the footsies aspect prevalent in most fighting games is significantly reduced by it being limited to standing and jumping attacks. There are dashes and mixups, but it has the depth of a puddle.

As you might infer from the game’s name, it’s a tag battle, so players are able to switch between their primary attackers and support character at any time, but there aren’t any actual tag combos, making it nearly pointless. Both attacker and supporter share the same life bar. The playing field generates orbs, that when hit, provides support characters with special items that they can use during battles. Silly stuff, like giant bowling balls, bombs and springs that catapult opponents into the air.

SNKheroines

There is one thing that SNK Heroines does that’s a little interesting. You can’t win by depleting the opponent’s health as you would in nearly every other fighting game. Instead, once you’ve chipped away enough health, you’re awarded a finishing chance, with a single-button-press finishing move being the key to victory. It is, admittedly, fun for a bit. It’s always fun figuring out combos in fighting games, and that’s no different here – but the lack of depth quickly makes itself apparent and after a handful of fights you’ll have experienced everything that SNK Heroines has to offer. Maybe it’s been dumbed down so players can learn to play with one hand?

yikes

The amount of content is anaemic, making Street Fighter V’s initial release look bountiful by comparison. The story mode consists of exactly 7 battles and takes just minutes to play through. It’s supported by a barebones survival mode, VS battles and training, along with online fights. I’ve not managed to play online so I can’t say how good the netcode is – but it hardly matters because SNK Heroines just isn’t worth playing. There’s a fair bit of unnecessary aesthetic fluff to unlock, for those who want the already poorly-dressed ladies to wear even worse outfits.

There may or may not be people questioning the game’s overt sexualising of women with obvious comparisons to Dead or Alive’s Xtreme spinoffs. There may also be people who’ll buy this game to get their anime tiddies to own the libs – and that’s fine.

They’re welcome to waste their money.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy might rightly draw ire for its overt, unnecessary sexualisation of fighting games’ femme fatales, but its problems extend further than social problems. It's anaemic in content and the fighting itself lacks any real depth.

Why does a game like this even exist? I mean, honestly, isn’t there enough dodgy content on the internet for some pervs out there?

EDIT: And seeing now that it’s a Nintendo game makes it even worse. Aren’t they meant to be more family friendly with their titles?

The question should be: Why are you such a stuck up crybaby bitch? The answer is because the mainstream media, unsafe feminists, ugly peer pressure and way too much soy has reduced your testosterone count to about 13 and you’re a bitch because of it.

Some people like sexy girls in video games. They’re called normal men and some normal women. Deal with it.

It exists because there are people stupid enough that’ll purchase it not because it’s a good game, but because they’re horny and it tickles their hormones. The same people that scream about “THOTs”. Apparently it’s only acceptable to abuse their hormones if it’s other men creating fake women for them.

As for Nintendo, they dropped that a while ago when they drew Bayonetta back over. They’re also releasing a groping simulator for the Senran Kagura series, a series that, at one point, had a good storyline, but sadly it’s just mindless fanservice now. It’s stupid shit like this that de-legitimizes games like Bayonetta. It was sexy too… but it was also a great game.

The reason Terry was transformed over was not because he’s the wrong brain in the wrong body. It was a forced transformation so they could keep the roster female and sell the game entirely on sexuality. I don’t see how that’s transphobic.

This game looks silly and I don’t see myself ever buying it, but I’m curious where people get the idea that liking fanservice somehow makes people conservative. There was a time when at least some of us on the left didn’t get all judgey just because people enjoy “unsophisticated” art and games in the privacy of their own homes.

My take was that he was disgusted with the fact they were using oversexuality to cover up a bad game with poor controls and fighting, attempting to manipulate people by their hormones.

That and, well, look at the comments. It’s filled with people screaming “soy” and attacking him for not loving and adoring the sexuality like it makes him less of a man. One side of the political coin tends to do that.

That might as well just be a coincidence…
Just because a game isn’t amazing and it is sexualized doesn’t mean that the sexualized nature is speceifically used to cover up the gameplay. ”oversexualized” is completely subjective too… But here it clearly isn’t for what it’s meant to be. It’s precisely as sexualized as it’s supposed to be… It revolves around it, so to say that it’s ”oversexualized” or whatever is quite silly… Is Senran Kagura ”oversexualized”? No… It isn’t, because it revolves so much around it.
”Oversexualized” to me at least would imply that a game either isn’t meant to be sexualized at all or is only meant to be somewhat sexualized but goes very far with it.
Or with a specific character for example, if a character is lewd and playful and sexualized and it makes sense then that’s fine. But if it doesn’t make any sense and a character is sexualized then the character may be considered as ”oversexualized”.

The notion that they use it to ” cover up a bad game ” tho implies that they started out with that intention when they began development.
I think that the issue is either a matter of people not understand that coincidence doesn’t = causality or that the game was always meant to be more casual and focus more on the girls and just being bright and fun to begin with and not to be a ”super serious fighting game”….

I mean your take here is making a lot of assumptions of intent of the developers.
I also know a lot of women who like these games too, I don’t think that it’s fair to just assume that it’s all about ”manipulating horny men/ boys” or whatever.
Even pornographic novels and lewd games like Senran Kagura has quite sizable female fans, and the artstyle of this game is quite ”girly”. There’s absolutely women who are super into these kinds of games too.

While I personally think that the whole Mai in a cow bikini is taking things a bit too far ( specifically because of the cow theme which is quite blatant, not the bikini in and of itself ). I still like the overall aesthetics of the game and think that it looks very cute and like a lot of fun.

My problem stems from the fact the game is clearly pretty jank and low effort, and that it’s being used to pull in the fanservice crowd. DOAX has shown this is a very, VERY bad idea, as they will turn on you if you do not feed them bigger breasts and more jiggle. See DOA6. Thing is though, we know they’re better than this. They’re the creators of King of Fighters. They’re a legendary studio that’s created one of the longer running fighting series.

I assume intent because that’s what it looks like. Yeah, it looks cute and fun… for a basic, low level jaunt. But it very much looks like afanservice-powered cash grab meant to emergency inject money into the studio, rather than trying for a big release. As much as you might not to admit it, they’re also hurting their reputation, a lesson DOA is learning the hard way.

I don’t doubt there are some women who are into this. The mass majority and target audience are horny men. Not cute stuff to lure women in. I can tell you right off the top of my head that’s what they tried with Arcana Heart… and even THAT series was far less on the blatant side. Yes, there were some stacked chicks… but this game takes it right off the edge.

Unsurprisingly, the fan score is considerably higher than the score the reviewers gave, which means it’s probably not a bad game, it’s just scored kinda low on the critic side because the soy boys don’t want to trigger ugly feminists and cucked manginas.

I’m sorry, I don’t speak Incel. What did you say?

Seriously, if you’re just going to keep viciously slinging insults at anyone that doesn’t agree with you, you’re not worth my time. You had a decent argument when the idea of the faults of the gameplay rather than ranting about the fanservice, I could at least see that, but at the same time, clearly he doesn’t enjoy the blatant fanservice, and this is his review from that stance.

He does not owe you a review from a fanservice-lover’s standpoint, and you do not have to agree with him. Throwing up your anti-feminist, red-pilled as all hell tribe words to moral signal against him doesn’t help. Neither does implying that people are homosexual because they don’t like overdone fanservice coating a poorly made, simple fighting game

I also read a few of your other comments on this topic.

“His score was unwarranted and he is a soyboy beta-male cucked mangina who needs to go back to his gay For pay lover and get raped after giving him 50 bucks.”

That completely writes you and your opinion off, and makes you look like a ragefreak that has no point. That you hate just to hate and you have no point than just “GIVE ME DUH BEWBAAAAAAYS! CryFace”.

The point you made about the Satanic Panic, being Conservative Libertarian, about people’s right to play it, etc. That humanized you, I agreed with you on several points, and actually made you seem like you had something to say that was worth listening to.

You should probably respond like that more often. Just saying.

Sorry, I don’t speak “1984 is an instruction manual and I need to be an asshole or my soy boy friends will disown me, and the only reason I am not an incel is because my mom has dementia and rapes me”.

First off, there is absolutely no such thing as too much fanservice. That would be like saying you had too much money. Second, and I can’t stress this enough. Docking a game for that and literally acting like everyone who plays to fight back against the same kind of people who caused Dishonored to be put on hiatus the way he did shows that he is literally only trying to gain brownie points with fake ass wannabe gamers like Anita Sarkeesian.

That kind of thing torpedoed EA with Battlefield V and crushed Mass Effect, so maybe you better start learning “Pissed off gamer who had enough of the fun police being shitheads” because real gamers, not faggots like this reviewer have had enough.

“WHAAAAAAAAAA! MY OPINION IS RIGHT! BUZZWORDS BUZZWORDS BUZZWORDS! LISTEN TO ME!!!! I’M RIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!” <— You.

And yes, you can have too much fanservice. I'm sorry you're an incel that only thinks with his dick and apparently cares about nothing else, but if you release a bad game covered in nice shiny paint and cashing in, predatorily, on people's hormones, you will be laughed off the internet, and the only reason you're defending it is, as to what the author said, "own the libs".

It's tribalism, pure and simple. You're an SJW, but on the reverse end. Just as loud, just as crazy, screaming buzzwords at the top of your lungs and backing anything that the other side doesn't like, because you base your belief systems and morals off how badly you can piss off your opposition.

          • Steve H.

            September 11, 2018 at 20:14

You can only have “too much fanservice” if you are a brain-dead sheep who relies on CNN, Stephen Colbert and Trevor Noah to tell him what to think and what to get crocodile tears about today.

I’m sorry that you are a non thinking piece of rotting monkey shit who somehow mysteriously thinks that seeing a few animated boobs on the TV will make you into a stark raving mad rapist (hint: if there was a direct correlation, the Middle East where women wear burqas from the age of seven would never have any sexual misconduct). Also, news flash: white knights don’t get any, literally, at all.

90% of this review was “WAHHHHHH!!! THERE ARE ANIME TITTIES WHEN ALL I WANT IS TO PUSH BUTTONS AND PRETEND TO BEAT PEOPLE UP IN STREET FIGHTER CLONE NUMBER EIGHTY BAZILLION!!!!” while 10% of it was barely coherent gibberish about the game mechanics.

So as much as you accuse me of being an incel, rest assured that the only way you would ever get any other than from your mother or gay men would be with a gigantic suitcase full of money. Go play Dream daddy if you are that much of a stuck-up crybaby bitch that you have to go wahhhhh every time something comes along that you think isn’t up to your puritan-ass 1692 Salem, Massachusetts or Don Quixote slashing at windmills crazy shit.

Fags like this reviewer already ruined lots of franchises and if you can’t see that by now, then obviously you are also part of the problem in gaming, because it will actually lead to increased sales once word that retarded social justice Warriors (a redundancy if there ever was one as all of them are extremely retarded) hate the game. Go burn a book somewhere while calling your opponents Nazis and see how ironic you can be.

I think you can have too much fanservice if you’re actively berating someone for purchasing a fighting game and expecting a fighting game. The entire idea of a fighting game is to, yes, pretend to beat someone else up. It’s an inherently competitive medium as it puts 1 v 1 against one another in an ultimate test of combative skill. Yet when fanservice peaks it’s head out, incels such as yourself pop in and suddenly demand absolute catering to, be it the game itself, or the reviewers that find it distasteful.

Also, well… all your arguments are based around insults. It’s really all you have. You don’t have a coherent argument, you can’t respectfully disagree, you throw every buzzword at your opponent, hoping to get upvotes purely from the word stew you type out catching the eyes of your intended allies, not caring if you look like a rambling manlet or not. You are, in essence, exactly like an SJW. Attacks and Tribalism. Only you can have the right opinion. That’s all your point boils down to. YOU. ARE. AN. SJW.

As for your points about me personally… I don’t think seeing animated boobs will make you a rapist, I don’t want to burn books, and, if you can’t tell by my own rants against puritanism… I’m not a puritan. You’re the one screaming about fags and gays and gay for pay and raping though. It’s funny too, the ones that hate gays the most usually end up being gay themselves, they just utterly hate themselves.

            Another example would be Doom.
Is the personal subjective opinions of a reviewer that hates violence in games relevant to the target demographic of Doom? No…
Is it fair to parade around your personal opinion about it as a ” review ” and then rate it badly because of it? No…

If lets say Feminist Frequency reviews it then I know that there’s a bias there, same with Polygon since they’ve disclosed it before.
So I don’t judge those sites as harshly in this regard, because they’re very clear about their biases, they don’t hide it or pretend as if it’s not there.
And as such their audience go to them for that specific bias, to be a part of that echochamber ( OneAngryGamer is a conservative example of that, it’s also a site for a specific bias. And they’re not exactly very open-minded either. ).

There’s a difference between having a personal opinion and allowing that personal opinion to affect how you rate the game or how much you push that personal opinion in your review. I am not saying that you’re not allowed to have a personal opinion, but you shouldn’t be shoving that personal opinion down everyones throat. And you should be recognizing that these games may not have been made for you, and review them based on how well they achieve pleasing the target audience.

Edit: Sorry if I sound angry. But I am tired of this…
Especially because of how one-sided it is because there’s A LOT of gatekeeping going on in the gaming press and when you combine it with reviews being blatant opinion pieces it becomes dangerous and feels a lot of like propaganda.
The end result is that it hampers the artistic freedom of developers because publishers do listen to the gaming press no matter how negative the response is from the actual consumers when they do…
I think that you lot are being extremely irresponsible tbh.

90% of this review was ” WAH!!!! There are anime titties when all I wanted to do was push buttons and pretend to beat the shit out of people”. 10% of this review was barely coherent gibberish about the game mechanics. This soyboy took down the points because he didn’t want to see what he saw. His score was unwarranted and he is a soyboy beta-male cucked mangina who needs to go back to his gay For pay lover and get raped after giving him 50 bucks.

I’ll end up buying the game because I actually like sexy characters, and think it’s cool we have a sexy female Terry Bogard now, and I’m not even straight lol.

I remember the satanic Panic that happened in the 1980s. The left got so much power they became who they hated. And the regressive left are anything but liberal. Because in my opinion a liberal is a person who would not like this game but would defend your right to play it. I am a conservative libertarian I believe in less government but I also believe in individual liberties. I am pro-marijuana although I’d like to see it regulated by the state so we know what we’re getting and I do believe in helping out homeless people and things like that but I also believe the government waste more than it spends.

This game is not promoting any sort of rape culture, it’s not misogynist, and it’s not anti-female. The truth is, if there was a direct correlation between dressing sexy and raping people, then the women in the Middle East to wear burqas from the age of seven would never be raped because their outfits are so covering and you don’t see anything.

You sound to me like you’re a green square libertarian liberal, and that’s about 40% of my friends so I don’t have a problem with that at all.

See when you remove the “to own the libs” bit that last paragraph just acknowledges that there are people who will enjoy the game for a reason that the author doesn’t. Instead of trying to trying to turn it into some political debacle that it just isn’t. A lot of the people who were looking forward to this game were fans of the fan service fighter who felt alienated by Dead or Alive’s new direction and were eager to test the waters elsewhere. You have every right to not like the game, and you make a few fair points. Trashing on the game for too much fan service, when that was obviously a selling point, is kind of low but trashing on the FANS for enjoying it is just poor journalism.

Point is players want a fighting game, but without visceral portrayal of the ramifications of bodily harm. Games are meant to be escapism in general, players generally don’t want to be reminded of the ugly consequences in fighting/shooting/whatever it is. Imagine how depressingly frustrating CoD/BF/whatnot war games will get if getting a single shot or two makes your soldier fall over and scream in pain and slowly bleed out and die instead of the standard hit point system. No sane individual is going to appreciate the ultra-realistic nuance of their cute/pretty girl (or guy) resembling a domestic violence victim by the end of a match.

But hey, if inflicting bruises and bleeding injuries on women’s faces and bodies is your fetish I can’t really do much aside from raise an eyebrow and flag you as a potentially very dangerous misogynist.

“Point is players want a fighting game, but without visceral portrayal of the ramifications of bodily harm.”

There are plenty of games that try to show off combat damage whilst the fight plays out, the problem is it’s usually regulated to the clothing, and while some do have them come out worse at the end, it doesn’t actually display the damage. They’re working on this.

Mortal Kombat kind of did it with their over the top fatalities, and the gore systems for the monsters in Killing Floor 2 and Doom are pretty good. This is tech that could improve EVERY game, that’s kind of why I’m excited. Imagine Doom Forever/Infinity with the system on the monsters.

” Imagine how depressingly frustrating CoD/BF/whatnot war games will get if getting a single shot or two makes your soldier fall over and scream in pain and slowly bleed out and die instead of the standard hit point system.”

            Arma 3 sold 4 million copies… SOOOOOOOOO…

“But hey, if inflicting bruises and bleeding injuries on women’s faces and bodies is your fetish I can’t really do much aside from raise an eyebrow and flag you as a potentially very dangerous misogynist.”

I’m equal opportunity, I want it for the guys and the gals, and I want it for the tech it’s going to create that will move past DOA and out to the rest of gaming in general. I think it’d be cool for a fighting game to actually have fighters that displayed actual fight damage. At least I regard them as proud, powerful fighters that can and will get hurt in combat. You just wanna keep them sex objects.

            September 9, 2018 at 17:27

Oh, there we go again with the “sex objects” argument.

I honestly agree with a fair number of your points on damage systems, but again I stand to my point that for every mortal kombat you raise, there are 3 other different fighting games with no visible damage to clothes, let alone the body. After all, Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Tekken or the previous DoA iterations don’t have this bruising and bloodying-up and longtime fans (especially of street fighter) certainly won’t be receptive to it, let alone the developers like capcom since it’ll affect their ESRB rating. Leave the visceral damage systems in the more M-rated and brutal series who have established that reputation.

I can’t tell which side of the US politics fence you sit on. Left-winger male feminist “everything I don’t like is misogyny” ally, or right wing bible-thumping “everything I don’t like is satanism” prude? Regardless, just so you’re aware not everything on the side you oppose is all about “sex toys”.

          • JosephCain

            September 10, 2018 at 06:26

The Sex Objects argument is just as valid as the “no one wants their character ruined by damage” argument. Thus why I made it in the first place. It removes any context, any depth, and waters down any and all argument. Kind of like your jab telling me I was a scary, woman hating misogynist because I liked the idea of battle damage.

I appreciate you at least giving me said points. I must also give you the fact people probably might not want that. As such, I am very much open to the option of allowing it, that way people can tailor their experience towards what they wish. I doubt your claim that ALL long time fans wouldn’t be up for it. I’m certain there’s quite a few that would indeed enjoy it.

My politic fence is the fence itself. I’m a Centrist. I am neither a Left Wing Feminist, Nor An Anti-Sex Bible Thumper. Thing is, I’m hyperaware of the fact I love video games like Mortal Kombat, Doom, Killing Floor 2, etc. These systems are gorey, the fighting is brutal, and it very clearly depicts pain and agony. It’d be hypocritical as fuck for me to scream “EW! BOOBIES! SO GROSS!”. I play Moero Chronicle for crying out loud.

My ire comes from the fact companies pass off poorly made games with sexuality to get fanservice dollars, and then the fanservice crowd comes in, and takes over, demanding more. See the DOA6 debacle, which was more about being an e-sport and competing with Tekken while dropping the idea it was just a sex game. Personally, I just want a good game. Moero Chronicle had lots of fanservice, and I enjoyed it for the Monster Girl art and the decent combat system.

I see, I see. But just be aware that your line of logic arguing that this line of games is designed to appeal to people’s lust can technically be taken and applied to other games; can it not be said that Mortal Kombat, DOOM, Killing Floor etc. in turn are designed to appeal to its audience’s primal instincts to kill/brutalize something/each other? Puzzle games to target OCD, horror for fear etc. So as it is if all these other emotions/urges can be targeted, I don’t see why titillation can’t have its own genre. Let it be what it wants to be, the fans who play this genre and are experienced with it can speak out on their strengths and pitfalls.

And for the record I don’t play these fanservice games myself, I’m more of a straight up action shooter/RPGer, but these kind of fanservice games still deserve to exist alongside everything else no matter which side is screaming for their cancellations because it is the present year feminine physiques are now apparently evil (in both sexist or religious manners).

          • JosephCain

            September 10, 2018 at 07:47

I am aware, and well, yes, that’s generally how it is so. Games can appeal to people in a number of ways, it’s never absolute. I’m sure there are some that’ll love this game for it’s ease of use. Maybe the designs speak something cute to them. Some might even love it because it’s a fully female roster.

At the same point and time, I can’t turn away the fact that companies use these systems to pick at our brains and tend to abuse them. Overselling violence, overselling graphics, overselling sexuality, overselling even morality, speaking the accepted beliefs at the time so they can make sales. “Oh, I’m a female dev! Support me!”. Things like that. Don’t even get me started on gacha boxes. All of these hide poorly made games hoping to sell off coating a broken machine in pretty paint, or abusive practices.

I’m not even against titillation as a genre. What does get me, however, is when they try to mask that as a certain type of game, fighter in this case, slap it’s brand seal on it, and send it out the door. It’s basically a lazy fighter, sold entirely on the fanservice, and I’ve seen creators abuse this, and it shape the way a series, or even studio, is thought of. While I’m against the puritanism, our society IS a thing, and unfortunately, sexuality can hurt a game, be it perception (bad asian games that milked it), or devs forgetting the game has a story, character, etc (Senran Kagura, DOA, etc).

You don’t know that. You’re just making assumptions.
If you have 10 games that are all bad, and one of them is sexualized people always say that about the one that is sexualized. But coincidence doesn’t = causality.
Just because a game is sexualized doesn’t mean that it’s sexualized to cover up for something else… These decisions are made before the development even begins.
I think that this game just revolves more around the girls and being lewd, that’s the main point of the game and not to be a ” real ” fighting game.
        And that’s fine.
It’s precisely what it’s meant to be.

I’m making the assumption based on a trend. They throw out a low level fighter into the market, fill it with fanservice, to the point they actually genderswap a male lead because lol why not, then they sell it. If you saw what happened with DOA, this draws in the “games as a sex simulator” group, an unpleasable mass that demands more boobs, more over the top sexuality, and if you dare turn away from them, you’re a monster that hates sexuality.

Sexuality doesn’t necessarily mean a bad game though. That’s not what I’m trying to say. I’ve played plenty of quality games that evenly distributed fanservice and story/mechanics. The first few Senran Kagura games actually did this very well, wrapping a dark, violent, bloody ninja story in boobs and torn clothes.

What I am saying is that, clearly, this game was meant to pull in the fanservice crowd and make some quick bucks off hormones, without a decent fighting system to it’s name, from a company WELL KNOWN for it’s fighting games. Just like DOAX is a shit volleyball game meant to tug at the pants of it’s users. It’s abuse of a base, primal part of the brain to get people to buy a subpar creation.

And that’s what it is, an opinion piece… NOT a review…

Wife and I played the game all night and thought it was good for what it was, a fan service fighting game. It’s pretty dumbed down in comparison to say KoF, SF, GG, etc. but honestly it doesnt hold it down at all. Really just kind of levels the playing field from the input field of things and makes you worry more about when to attack and punish. I don’t see that as a negative because combo inputs are engraved in our heads making it so simple anyway while playing more technical fighting games.

Tits and ass are always great to see, my wife and I finding the costumes either yummy or adorable. Anyone offended by it is usually looking to be offended by something anyway so they can get bent. Overall it’s not a bad game 7 out of 10 for me.

I think most people knew exactly what this game would be. It’s trash, pandering to the fanservice crowd, hoping the titties will sell the game since it can’t cash in on the gameplay. That’s kind of the way some games are going, and yet there’s a crowd more than happy to see a series, even a genre, go to shit just to please their hormones, not realizing it’s manipulative. The same thing they tend to whine about “THOTs” doing. But when real women do it… it’s evil. When it’s men selling fake women… totally fine.

Thing is, I could care less about sexuality. I think it’s silly to hate sexuality while embracing violence, since violence actually hurts people. People die. Death bad. Pleasure good. But when it’s used to cover up a bad game in gloss and jiggle and sell it with the hope hormones will carry one through, I’m amazed it doesn’t get the same fury as gacha lockboxes. They’re both abusive. That’s the point I took from the author. It’s disgust that it’s a trash game being sold on hormones.

As for the entire point about “pissing off the libs”, strangely the comments are filled with “soy”, “feminists”, “mangina”, “leftists”. The list goes on. Who uses that sort of talk?

To those defending this, I have to ask… why? Is it because abusive practices are alright if it pisses off the enemy tribe? Because I remember a time when gamers were united against companies over abusive practices, bad games, pre-order and on disk DLC-culture, and swung at loot boxes… even the cosmetic ones, because it was abusive and manipulative.

You said the game lacks depth but you don’t list anything about its mechanics nor do you try to explain how the game lacks depth. Here are a few of the games mechanics to show you how the game has depth: Back dash invincibility, guard cancels, guard rolls, ground bounces, wall bounce, guard crush, instant air dashes, frame traps, and crumple states.

There are games that do not even have this many mechanics and are still considered in depth fighters for example blade strangers, but you wouldn’t know that because you don’t play fighting games. I can tell you did not grow up playing king of fighters because you would have been able to recognize those mechanics.

I bet you never even played KOF 14, this review is a sham and is biased. You saw that the game have only two attacks buttons and scantly dressed characters and decided to write your horrible review. You do not know anything about fighting games because even if this game didn’t have those mechanics it still will have things such as setups, foosties, and knockdown mixups because it is a 2d fighter. That is why even a 2d fighter that has barely any mechnaics still have a lot of depth because there are still mind games and footsies. Dive kick for example is extremely simple but has a lot off depth simply because it is a 2d fighter. Research before you write a review buddy. I give your review a 2.5 out 10 “Better luck next time”.
