Xbox Live vs. PlayStation Network

A while ago I was pointed in the direction of onAXIS as a good place to get some good PS3 news, since the majority of mainstream media sites slam the PS3.

I have used them a few times and today when I saw they had a comparison of the Xbox live service and PlayStation network I was expecting to see some completely biased rubbish. Surprisingly they have been very open and honest about it all and have mentioned some good and bad about each of the services.

I think they sum it up very well when they say

If you want us to tell you the drastic truth, Xbox Live wins this match, and it will keep winning this match until Sony takes action and starts rolling out it’s forces. I’m a big supporter of Sony, but facts don’t lie, in fact, they can’t talk.

Follow the link at the bottom for the full review though as it really was quite interesting… Which of you have both consoles and do you agree?

XBL is flatly miles ahead of the PSN. The one thing that PSN has slightly in its favour is a few high quality titles but the negative aspect of such is their large download size.

Overall Sony will copy whatever it can from XBL while its Home package gets tweaked.

If “live” didnt exist would anyone really be that unhappy with psn? Sure it would be nice to be able to bring up your friends list, messages etc in game but otherwise I dont really have any real gripes about the psn. Sure “live” is better but as usual how about we give the psn some time to develope and evolve, as has been allowed for “live”.

Sure Abev, how long should we give them since they have had over a year of it being live and a few years in development?

Or should we just allow it to be second rate because Microsoft thought of it first?

And the lead is due to who’s miss doing? Sony stuffed up the BR production line due to hardware issues, etc. So just admit that the PSN will either catch up or be 2nd grade when compared to XBL. Simple as that.

Um I already admitted that the xbox live is better and that the psn is gonna need to catch up!?!
Why do people never actually comprehend what is written in front of them? They get so excited at the thought of starting a flame war that they just starting screaming and pointing fingers.
Gavin I think you should block this thread before it gets out of hand.

Nah, I haven’t even had a chance to call you names yet :p

“A years lead” is irrelevant. You have to compare at any one time. But to one point of yours I will agree. If it suits the purpose be greatful.

I’m greatful PSN keeps PS3 fanboys off of Xbox Live! 😉
