It’s now nearly 2014 and there are some incredible video streaming services around that offer your nearly unlimited video viewing for under $10 a month and yet you can only access them if you live in certain regions.

Well ElephantVPN is here to help resolve that by offering you a service that allows you to bypass region checking on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and many more services.

Q. So how does it all work and do I need to be technically savvy to set this up?

No, this is the best part about the eleDNS service as you are just required to change the DNS settings on your router or device and then ElephantVPN take care of the rest.

The best part about this offering is that it doesn’t slow your traffic down at all, for normal browsing it will go directly to the required sites while if you are trying to access something like Netflix then the request will be directed through the ElephantVPN service in the region of your choice and will trick Netflix into granting you access.

Q. Okay great sounds easy enough but how much does it cost?

The service subscriptions start from only $4.99 per month or you can pay for the year upfront and get a larger discount, but please note however this does not include your Netfix subscription ($7.99 p/m) or your ISP costs. Even still this ends up a lot cheaper than your typical satellite or cable coverage.

Q. Okay you’ve nearly convinced me but I’m still a sceptic what now?

Well for a limited time only we are giving away from trial accounts so simply enter below and hold tight, you may be our lucky winner.

Q. Okay sold.. last question though? Do I have to sit behind my computer to watch all of these?

Not at all, that’s the best part. Once you have setup your router you can watch the services via iPad, or a connected Smart TV. You can plug in an Apple TV and it will automatically unlock all the services on the device when it realises it is now in a supported region.

But do they have cricket and rugby on it? Worth considering in any case as I am stopping my DSTV soon.

You can try sportsnet world online, its a Canadian TY station that boasts, EPL and Rugby. I think its fairly costly though and I am not sure of the volume of content.

You are infringing on the terms of use of the internet TV service, not illegal but you have broken a contract. I do not know much about copyright law in SA but as I understand it certain persons organisations hold the licence to distribute content in SA, so you are circumventing their rights to receive royalties/fees on this. They have paid for these rights. Also to broadcast television requires a very costly licence and the government might be a little upset that this is being “broadcast” without their cut. I am not sure what this means to the user but as the VPN provider is advertising this they might have a hard time explaining that what you use the VPN for is none of their business, a bit like file sharing sites so it may just all fall on them.
