I’ve always been a pretty big proponent of buttons and other inputs you can actually touch; to that end, I haven’t really enjoyed Kinect in its current iteration very much – and it remains an unused, dusty peripheral that sits atop my TV. That could end up changing with the Xbox One – because it’s voice control options are actually quite impressive.
The video, thieved from Xbox.com by AGB, shows a user switching the console on; loading up a video, opening the activity feed; joining a game (of TITANFALL!); recording gameplay footage; sharing that footage; watching TV; snapping to Internet Explorer; accepting a Skype call; unceremoniously hanging up on his mate and switching the console off – using nothing but his voice, and in the space of two minutes
If it really works like this – and reports from an insider or two tell me it does – I can certainly see myself using the feature. Yes, it’s nothing you couldn’t do with buttons – but it’s all done without fiddling through a single unnecessary menu.
What do you think? If it’s as snappy as that video demonstrates, do you see yourself shouting at your Xbox One instead of going through myriad menus and button presses?

I think the browsing and skype commands will (at least should be) the same as in the video but loading and switching between games and movies there will be definitely be a lot more “loading lag”.

This looks to be seriously seriously cool. Its one feature which Sony can’t even touch, and looks to be an amazing part of the Xbone. If I have the cash, this would definitely be a huge feature to convince me of buying one.

There are many who feel the same. Especially those who have been console gaming since the 80s. Not single problem until the internet consoles came along.
I can understand that all of these Updates are just to try and defeat the Pirates. But somehow I think they have more to do with DATA farming than the gamers interest at heart.
I am also going to hold back for a couple of years. Sometimes I wish I did that this gen after those darn RRODs.

Either this man has a severe case of ADD or the video has been sped up considerably (post-edit). Also, he says “go to Pacific Rim” yet, Pacific Rim is highlighted and clicked in the video (d’Oh).
Given the current shock-and-awe post-resolution gate (xbox 720p), it seems that Microsoft’s OS for xbone isn’t done yet. Gaf has been on fire since last night about a rumour (still needs to be verified by the buttocks though) that there are serious problems with the OS – in particular xbox live/connectivity and app stability. In fact, it seems that we’re actually being saved from a launch period of epic fail.

I really wish you would for once put your bias aside when commenting. A lot of people who have actually SEEN this console say that it is that fast. Yes, fact remains that it might not be, but judging by actual experiences it is.
Has the 720p rumour been confirmed? Then stop throwing that poo around.
Broken operating system? Not confirmed. Even so, how much worse than a day one patch to activate (fix) a few problems.

We create our own experiences. There’s really nothing stopping you from making an argument and countering me – it’s not that difficult, I’m definitely not a megamind- , but it’s a completely different matter if you’re saddling your frustrations onto one person.
If you have been lurking around since Nick’s tenure, you’ll know that Lagz was even worse in the past. The PS/X360 fanboy wars were even uglier and there were times that it got toxic. The community may seem a lot more cliquey but that’s purely because of post-frequency. The more you post, the more likely someone will interact with you. It’s unfortunately how it works.
I’m not a contributor to Lagz, and I prefer it that way, because it allows me a certain degree of freedom in what I can post and what I can chat about. Sure, people respect my opinions, but if they’re blindly following what I say without checking for themselves than there’s something horribly wrong here.
Also News 24s funk is a function of zero-moderation and zero staff input. They’ve allowed a toxic environment to form after their articles, and they don’t seem interested in changing that.
Lagz on the other hand, you get the staff posting here, and if someone is out of line, they get a stiff finger in the ear, or the community self-regulates. Lagz is definitely not News24 in that regard.

Okay I’m calling BS on that response time. I really hope I am wrong because I will in all likelihood be picking up one eventually but I can’t see anything responding that fast. I am going to assume that everything was already running in the background (obviously) which leaves me wondering how that RAM is optimised to run the OS, Titanfall, an HD movie and Skype concurrently with only 8GB of RAM and switch that fluently between them.
