If you want Blu-Ray buy a PS3

I was sent a tip this morning about how the Blu-Ray player manufacturers are cheating the system by getting their players certified before the stricter/better requirements come into effect on the 30th of October.

We are currently in the Profile 1.0 generation but as of the 1st of November all Blu-Ray players certified will need to have a minimum of 256MB local storage and be able to do Picture in Picture plus a few other things. However these dodgy dealers are getting their Profile 1.0 players certified before the deadline even though they are not planning on selling them until next year.

So in essence you are going to be stuck with a brick in a few years time. However don’t expect these 1.1 players to be any better since the Profile 2 has already been specified and as of sometime in the future all Blu-Ray players will need 1GB of storage and Internet capability.

So if you are even slightly interested in getting a Blu-Ray player just buy a PS3. Which is already Internet enabled and has way more than 1GB of storage. Granted it doesn’t have the software yet but that is going to be easily fixed with a firmware update.

Well done Sony. Screw your customers in the ASS. LOL. Sony deserve to die a slow painful death. HD-DVD to the rescue.

JP…did you read the article? Who is Sony screwing in the ass? You, sir, for that comment, deserve to be called unpleasant names 🙂 .

The most interesting part of the whole article was the “doobiwan pro-PS3” bit. Still picking my jaw off the flaw. We’re having a white christmas this year, South Africans, – miracles do happen 😀 .
