The US government is now urging its allies to shun Huawei

Huawei is the second biggest mobile phone maker on the planet right now. Thanks to a big push in emerging markets like India and South Africa, the Chinese company has eclipsed Apple when it comes to dollar sales globally. The company now has its eyes set on Samsung and the number one spot.

That it’s managed to even become the number two mobile manufacturer is a feat, considering that the company is not allowed to sell its devices in the US, one of the world’s largest markets. The US government won’t allow Huawei or ZTE devices to be sold in the country, citing alleged ties to the Chinese government. The US believes that Huawei and other Chinese equipment makers are using tech to spy on the US and its citizens.

Huawei, of course, does more than just phones. They manufacture and develop a broad range of communications equipment – and none of that stuff is allowed to be sold in the US either.

According to the Wall Street Journal, American officials have now urged their telecommunication counterparts in Germany, Italy and Japan to drop Huawei equipment for future tech, like 5G networks. The US is apparently also looking at increasing financial aid to countries that move away from Chinese-made equipment.

“We engage with countries around the world about our concerns regarding cyberthreats in telecommunications infrastructure,” a U.S. official said. “As they’re looking to move to 5G, we remind them of those concerns. There are additional complexities to 5G networks that make them more vulnerable to cyberattacks.”

One big hurdle for America here is that Huawei is one of, if not the leading purveyor of 5G equipment.

“There is only one true 5G supplier right now, and that is Huawei,” said Neil McRae, chief network architect for large British carrier BT Group PLC. “The others need to catch up.”

Maybe if America didn’t vote in a nationalist president the rest of the world would care more about what they want?

But until they get rid of the orangatan they can suffer by themselves, we no longer care what they have to say

All part of their fucked up trade war on China.
Idiots. In the end, THEY will be the ones who suffer.
I can’t wait until Russia and China really get their oil trade in high gear, cutting out OPEC and buying/selling barrels in yuen. The almighty petrodollar will fall and so will the wannabe world controlling Americans.

Russia looks out for itself and its allies.
As part of BRICS, we’re allies.

US news constantly vilifies Russia and wrongly so. The US and all its allies want the world to believe that Russia is behind every horrible thing that happens in the world. Meanwhile, it’s usually America.

Except that Russia just attacked the Ukraine, again, and is provably behind the rising nationalism in America and Europe.

As you can see in these comments I am not a fan of America at the moment, but that doesn’t mean I support Russia at all. They are not our friends

Btw, Kiev has declared martial law.
This move from Ukraine is being seen as deliberate by the Ukraine president, as an excuse to impose martial law. Thereby cancelling or stalling their internal elections. Elections that Poroshenko would likely lose, because he is extremely unpopular. Ukraine loves to try and cause kak and then blame Russia. Very likely following orders from their US puppet masters.

Ukraine naval vessels violated Russian waters. So Russia blocked them and siezed them. Seems like provocation to me.
Russia doesn’t just attack without being provoked.

As for the “rising nationalism” being Russia’s fault, I honestly doubt that. Russia has only ever “meddled” with other countries when THOSE countries have requested Russian aid. Syria being prime example.

that’s complete garbage, it isn’t Russian Water,. there is a written agreement it is shared water but since Russia STOLE Crimea they are now unilaterally changing the agreements they signed.

Russia also poisoned civilians in the UK, pretty sure the UK didn’t ask for Russian Aid.
Brexit and Trump both have links to Russian propaganda

What? No, Gav, you’re believing Western media too much again.

Crimea CHOSE to go back to Russia. Voted something like 98% in favour of it.
And that UK poison thing, are you referring to that Skripal farce? The thing that the UK pointed at Russia, without any evidence? The thing that every security expert that’s looked at the facts finds laughable on the part of the UK?

no evidence? There is photo evidence, the people have been proven to be Russian officials. The chemicals have been proven to come from a Russian chemical strain.

The Crimea CHOSE to become russian AFTER Russia invaded it and ran a *votes*.. EVEN if the vote happened before you can’t vote yourself out of a country. You really have been bathing in that koolaid haven’t you

Whether or not they are spying on American’s, is debatable, and somewhat of a conspiracy theory maybe, but everyone else in the world seems happy. Unless Trump has information other developed European countries don’t have. I still smells a conspiracy theory!!!
