pricecut

With the 3DS and PS3 price cuts significantly boosting sales of both devices, you’d imagine that Microsoft would reactively lower the price of its console.

But they’re not.

"We have better service provision than anybody. We attach more effectively than anybody. I think Xbox Live is enviable," explained Microsoft’s Chris Lewis. "What we’ve achieved with Kinect has given us growth that I think others would aspire to at this point in the lifecycle."We’re happy with our position. While we’re not complacent about the competition, I wouldn’t trade places."

Locally, the Xbox 360 250Gb and 160Gb PS3  are available for much the same price – that’s before the global PS3 price cut has kicked in though. Which do you think is the better value proposition?

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
