Destiny 2: Where is Xur (and whats he got for sale?) – December 06

By Darryn Bonthuys
December 6, 2019 - 13 hours ago

There are still those who are willing to get up at the crack of dusk and boot up their console to find him for you. People who’ll risk digital life and limb to let you know if Xur is selling a treasure or rubbish. I just so happen to be one of those people. Maybe you’re stuck at work and can only log in later tonight. In that case: Where is Xur?

New gameplay for Witchfire gives the game a Dark Souls meets Destiny vibe

Around two years ago at an older Game Awards show, the Polish team of The Astronauts showed off their next game. Called Witchfire, it looked like a funky mix of action that made no bones about it wanting to be the Dark Souls of shooters. Which is weird because that game already exists and is called Rainbow Six: Siege. HEYOH!

How PlayStation came up with their iconic startup sound 25 years ago

By Darryn Bonthuys
December 6, 2019 - 19 hours ago

Along came the PlayStation, a machine which made use of cutting edge CD-ROMs to store games on and also offered crystal clear audio quality. You’d plug that wonderful grey box up to a TV, switch it on and over the course of 15 seconds you were reminded of just how powerful your new console was. That brief blurp of sound, a gentle smattering of crystals harmoniously clinking against one another and that delightful fade.

Sorry, but Control isn’t heading to Game Pass after all. Maybe.

By Geoffrey Tim
December 6, 2019 - 23 hours ago

This week, Xboss Phil Spencer appeared on an Extra Life charity stream and just happened to mention that Remedy’s latest game, Control, would soon be on Game Pass. He suggested that the game was great, but that it didn’t “didn’t reach enough people,” and that it being on Game Pass would rectify that. It caused many to celebrate. Control is indeed a lovely game, and it deserves to have more people play it.

By Darryn Bonthuys
December 6, 2019 - 1 day ago

Last year saw the likes of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, Far Cry: New Dawn and Mortal Kombat 11. This year? Expect another ten reveals throughout the night when the Game Awards kick off at the ungodliest of hours for anyone who lives on the wrong side of the GMT border.
