2014 may have been a bleak year for Pixar movies (or their complete lack of them), but 2015 is off to a fine start so far. Inside Out has proven to be a massive money-maker, and the next film hitting cinemas will be The Good Dinosaur. Here’s a trailer for it:
“The Good Dinosaur” asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.
Pixar films have never truly aimed at photo-realistic visuals, preferring instead to hone a signature style. But I’ll be damned if The Good Dinosaur doesn’t have some of the prettiest images in terms of environment and backgrounds.
It’s truly stunning, and something that sets it apart from the rest of the Pixar line-up, giving the movie it’s own charm. The film opens in 3D on November 25, and features the voices of Raymond Ochoa,Jeffrey Wright, Steve Zahn, A.J. Buckley, Anna Paquin, Sam Elliott, Frances McDormand, Marcus Scribner, and Jack Bright.
Peter “Partly Cloudy” Sohn directs.
