Kinect enabled Gears of War? It could be true (But it isn’t)

A certain tweet from Cliff Bleszinski went past yesterday that really caught my eye, in it he was asked whether Gears of War 3 had been delayed as it’s going to work with Kinect to which Cliff replied simply… No.

There isn’t really much more to it but it stood out in my mind and got me wondering about any way that Gears of War 3 could be improved with the arrival of Kinect and to be honest I couldn’t think of anything. It sounds like a terrible idea.

However the story doesn’t end there.

A new post went up on IGN this morning which states that they received a tip off that Microsoft is going to use the Spike VGA’s to announce that Gears of War is going to be Kinect enabled.

What we don’t know yet is whether they are going to announce that Gears 3 will be Kinect enabled, or if they are going to release a Gears of War Kinect minigame or some DLC for Gears 2 that will allow Kinect to integrate with the system.

I just can’t think of any good way that Kinect can enhance Gears of War… except maybe taking pictures of you as you get chainsawed in the face… again.

But then before this post even saw the light of day Cliff tweet again and this time there is no doubting what he is saying.

But… who says that we still won’t see a retrofit of Kinect into Gears 2 or something entirely new?
