Will Smith wants to put a fresh spin on the tale of Cain and Abel

It’s not enough to just be an actor these days, as now, those extremely highly paid thespians are looking to make a name for themselves behind the camera as well.

Following in the footsteps of Clint Eastwood, Woody Allen, Rza and George Clooney, it looks the Directors Guild is going to  be experiencing sudden increases in the jiggy, as Will Smith is looking to helm his own project.

Even though the actor has helped produce several flicks in the last couple of years, he has his eye set on calling the shots for a film based on the first murder case in biblical history, Cain and Abel.

The twist however, is that this tale will have a vampiric twist to it, with Cain happening to have a case of the Nosferatu-flu. Smith was previously attached to star in that project when it was first revealed back in 2010, but it’s been stuck in development hell since then.

There’s now word though as to when exactly Smith will find the time to makethe film though, as his current schedule is pretty full. Smith might have his hands full though, as the crrent film script doesn’t boast any real heavyweight writers besides Dan “Carnivale” Knaufe, with some help from Smith’s brother-in-law Caleeb Pinkett.

It’s still an interesting premise though, and it’s always fascinating to see what talents a person renowned for acting, can bring to a different role in film production.

Plus, bible films are hawt right now, with Darren Aronfsky, Ridley Scott and Steven Spielberg already at work on their tales surrounding characters from the big book.

  1. A “fresh” spin you say? lol

Makes me think about the Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines part, where Cain was the origin/father of all vampires.

    Sounds interesting.

Hehe.  I smell a lawsuit coming.

Now there is a game that needs a sequel I think!

Yeah! Although it was buggy as hell, it was brilliant!
