Alert! Mass Effect 2 DLC Issues and How to Fix Them

ME2

Mass Effect 2 is out in the US (and garnering some pretty damned exceptional reviews), but the launch has been mired by an issue involving the redemption of collector’s edition and promotional DLC codes.

We’re only getting the game on Friday (Or Monday, if you’ve ordered the Collector’s Edition…delays suck!), but at least you won’t have to endure the same problems.

The issue mostly revolves around having your gamertag or profile tied to an EA.com account. If you already have an EA account linked to your profile, do not create a new account on BioWare’s or EA’s site to redeem your code.

Ea have issued a generic, unhelpful response “We are aware of the issue. Users having this problem can go to http://support.ea.com, choose "email us" on the left, and users should be able to get through.”

Bioware have been far more helpful, detailing the issues as well as how to ensure you get the DLC you rightfully should get, here.
If you’ve failed to heed this warning, and gotten the DLC tied to the wrong account, you can rectify that at EA’s online account page, details of which you can find here.

Of course, some of you sneaky ninjas managed to bag all of the DLC when Microsoft flipped the switch a little early, allowing people to get all of the game’s current DLC – including Collector’s Edition bonus items -for free. DLC problems aside, Friday cannot come soon enough.

EA need to sort their service out. When i bought Skate 2 I couldn’t play the multiplayer at all because my EA account was buggered and I couldn’t sign in. I emailed support and begged and pleaded with them to delete my account so i could create a new one but they kept redirecting me to crappy “solutions” to my problem which didn’t help at all.

I was eventually able to play by logging in on a different xbox live profile i created JUST for skate 2.

At least Bioware seems to be jacked up.

I purchased Spore earlier this year. I had to install a cracked patch just to get the game to work. Ever since then, I no longer feel guilty about downloading their games off of Pirate Bay. Bioware is my favorite Company, EA my least.
Anyway, as far as ME2 is concerned, I am pissed off at the Nvidia bug at Jerrahe station. I’ve been waiting two weeks and it’s not fixed yet, and there are lots of Nividia cards on the market.
